oOple Invernational race day 2
Day two of the oOple race took place Saturday the 12th June 2010 and was the main day of qualifying for both 2WD and 4WD racers. Paul Bradby sat at the top of 2WD and Lee Martin was dominating 4WD in fine style. Things kicked off after the racing had finished for the day - a BEER race, england football match, flaming-hoop jump and finishing with a disco in the main pitting tent. It went wild - sadly, so wild that we couldn't finish polishing the report and had to put things away before they got smashed up in fine style. Sunday 13th sees the final round of qualifying followed by three-leg finals for all drivers - if they manage to make it to the track after tonights festivities. Awesome. Report so far is online here: http://www.oople.com/rc/photos/ooplerace2010 |

What a Great weekends racing. Everyone involved in the organisation and running of the event should be very proud of themselves. It was great to watch the top drivers in the country battle it out in 2wd/4wd. Stroll on next year .
|
With 4 DNF's and a very poor run I was destined for the H final so the 'official' racing didn't go well for me but it was still awsome .
A big thanks to everyone that made it happen  , If I'm at the next one I'm staying sober  |

I'll dig out the top 10\s when I find them (screwed up in my pocket I think - Johns exporting the html stuff on his own PC computer as I think he had problems at the track.
Nathan Waters dominated 4WD and Tom Cockerill dominated 2WD basically - both won the opening two legs of the A finals and sat out the third WET legs! There was some really great moments at this event - too many to think of right now as my brain is fried. I think we were the last to leave the track tonight (some are staying over) and I don't think I heard a single bad word about the event, in fact, everyone seemed to love it. There are loads of things for us to go and think about for next year now - things we want to do better and build upon. The weather at the end of today was a big shame but it made for some great laughs watching the B finalists - and even the odd A finalist, riding the slick concrete corner sideways during the race, when it wasn't even part of the track layout! haha. Many thanks for coming to everyone of course, I really appreciate all the drivers that came and hope everyone had a good time - I think I need to go away and compile a list of people to thank so I don't miss anyone, but before I do that, just thanks to everyone that helped! And I think I'll start planning next years event now. Any comments or suggestions on this years event / future events, please let us know by emailing me, jimmy (at oople dot com). |
