All day meeting - 27th June 2010 - 2nd Round of Summer Series

The track will be open from about 08:00 with booking in to be completed by 09:15. Racing will commence shortly afterwards and we aim to be wrapped up around 16:00 (Pending numbers)..

We run an AMB timing system using BBK Software and have a few handout transponders with most racers using PTs

Come and join us and have a great day racing.

Champ table results can be found here - 2010 Summer Series

We'll have limited Gazebo pit space by the track, but there is more parking just away from the track on hardcore.

We have an on site Porta Loo which is clean and tidy (sharing with the flying club.)

Costs will be as normal, with the exception where people want to do two classes it'll be 50% of the booking in fee again.

£5 for members and £7 for non members

Any questions please PM SteveB or myself as we are the active comittee members for the club on Oople.

I'm sure other TORCH members will contribute to this thread as normal!

Make sure you bring your BRCA cards please.

if you haven't attended TORCH before can you please send me your details etc.

For those that haven't attended TORCH before, please visit our website www.torchracing.org.uk

I will be doing one class this time, but haven't decided yet which one.

RobW 08-06-2010 03:06 PM

Make it 2WD Mike - I started building the SV this morning - just shocks, bodyshell and electrics to go.

Yeah we did have a cracker last time.. mmm and I do need to test my SV tweaks before that weekend as any advantage I had is going to be nulled.!

What electrics etc have you got going in?

Got a decent points haul in 4WD last time...

Hurrah we might have another car that has a chance of out numbering the B4!

mikeyscott 14-06-2010 03:14 PM

Long range (if it means anything) is looking good for this

SteveB 15-06-2010 07:35 PM

Looks like a good meeting is ahead, appreciation to all that support any track maintainence the day before the 27th, aims are to finish the drainage and tidy the track ready for sundays meeting.

Would be good to get some perspective on numbers and anyone who is coming from other clubs.

Nice to see Richard Baker back and Mark Heading join us for the first time, great to see u guys back for all day meet.

Roll on the 27th

That'll be cool. Will be interesting to see how the Durango gets on unless you're in for 2WD...

Any of your other Nitro riff raff coming ;) - Jon Wolfe?

simoncrabb 18-06-2010 10:01 AM

I'll be down, 2wd for me, all my 4wd Tamiya stuff is being sold ;-)

Too many cars, and I was getting bored with the usual Tamiya spares availability farce...

Will just run the awesome Cougar for a while, until another 4wd takes my fancy...

mikeyscott 22-06-2010 07:38 AM

We aim to run 3 leg finals for all.

mikeyscott 23-06-2010 03:25 PM

Nice and hot for this weekend :)

Whats everyones thoughts on this meetings clash with the Germany v England game (15:00 BST) ?

Matt

Randall34 24-06-2010 12:26 PM

Should be a good game, 2-0 to England i feel.

I know, bad timing. Not sure what can be done though. I am torn between good old sky plus and leaving a bit early

Matt-h 24-06-2010 12:44 PM

Well, i am up for recording the match, as long as there is a strict rule about not talking about results/the match at the track

Ditto

RobW 24-06-2010 01:57 PM

Sorry but Jack and I will be heading off at 2.30 - chances to watch England beat Germany in the world cup with your son don't come around that often. Recording it won't be the same as the mood in the house when I get home will tell me the result.

Rob

mikeyscott 24-06-2010 02:26 PM

So will people carry on through this time rather than having a lunch break like last time?

Key thing for everyone is to be efficient at marshalling etc. I.e. not heading back to your pit area when you're due to marshal, we'll be expecting cars to be left at race control after your race.

Also means I'll be closing booking in bang on time. For those that are late I can fit people in, but I would prefer for people to be on time and ready.

RobW 24-06-2010 02:54 PM

I would not want the day cut short for people who want to run all day as that was the purpose of the meeting but.. if it looks like half the field are going to leave early then I would have though (dependent on numbers) we could still get 4 qualifiers and 3 finals all done by 2.00pm? We manage 6 rounds by 12.30 on a normal meet.

Difficult because I know many people will only travel any distance for a full day's racing.

We will come either way

Exactly my thoughts too and I'll be there till the end of course for the racers.

I don't want a meeting rushed through etc.

dibble34 24-06-2010 06:19 PM

Given the choice i would be happy to finish around 2:30, but will stay to the end and record it if i have to. same goes for F1 results, don't want to know about that either!

Crazy L 24-06-2010 06:37 PM

I would rather stay all day and race RC cars than watch 22 overpaid twats run around a field for an hour and a half chasing a ball.

They don't give a toss if you watch them or not, they still get paid.

Anyway, that's what skyplus/vcrs were invented for surely.

Li, you have your point and alot of over paid people kicking around a football engages over 25 million viewers from the uk, so thats a fair reason to listen to peoples views sunday morning and gain a concensus. I will go with the majority.
I prefer F1 tbh and this has its issues but we have 2 GB`s leading the championship , Sky plus is always handy.

DHB 24-06-2010 08:53 PM

I have loads of food for BBQ boys.

Takes all sorts – some people rush home or record pictures of 22 or so over paid F1 drivers (I’ll be polite) racing round a track for an hour and a half. Doubt they really care if you watch and guess they still get paid.

I have little interest in domestic football but the world cup is one of the few times where much of the country comes together. Families, friends and work colleagues get together to cheer their country on – when else do we see this? I don’t think a bit of patriotism once every 4 years is too much but then again maybe that is not pc anymore……

Don’t have skyplus or vcr – I’ll watch it if I can but there is nothing on there that I could be bothered to record.

Hold on! What about Wimbledon?

AmiSMB 26-06-2010 08:45 AM

I will be up for 4wd and 2wd as long as there is enough numbers to not be silly for marshalling. Looking forward to it.
