batley regional

hi all, looking forward to two days of racing at batley:p anybody involved with the club know if its okay to camp over fri,sat night:confused:

PaulRotheram 27-07-2007 11:11 PM

are guests allowed? namely for 2wd.

craigosh 27-07-2007 11:12 PM

guest for 4wd as well maybe??

telboy 07-08-2007 01:31 PM

Have I got it right, is the 2wd on the saturday and 4wd sunday?

super__dan 07-08-2007 03:23 PM

Tel I have it written in my diary as the other way around but that's far from defo. It was the other way round as York wasn't it?

Paul, no probs with guests as far as I'm aware!

Still not got an answer from Dianne on camping, she is waiting on confirmation from the sports centre.

We SUSPECT camping on the grass between the track and football pitch is OK, but as the football season is nearly upon us we may not be able to use the pitch for anything, and also the grass toward the skate park might be OK Either way we might have to be more cosy than usual with the pitting space and move all cars to the car park.

jimmy 07-08-2007 03:27 PM

Me and mr Price might be up for some Guest appearance in 4WD if the weather is good and it's on sunday - having said that if we are in a guest heat it wont really matter if it's 2WD on sunday will it? we can still run 4WD?

bigred5765 07-08-2007 03:31 PM

were's all the caravans going then??and how do we get them to the track

Cheers

super__dan 07-08-2007 05:28 PM

Just spoken to Dianne. The centre amanger has gone on holiday without answering her questions and there is some comlication as the centre don't organise the football bookings. Dianne is sorting it all out tomorrow though.

xx4-nutter 07-08-2007 05:38 PM

what sort of gap we got between the track and the begining of the footie pitch ? how many tents have been pitched in that sort of space before ?

emzy 07-08-2007 06:34 PM

At the 2004 National we weren't allowed onto the football field but managed to fit everyone along the gap and up on the bank (although the skate park wasn't there at the time).

Northy 08-08-2007 07:37 AM

AND EVERYONE WHO WANTS TO DO THE BRC FINALS (formally F2's), THE F3, 4, 5's OR THE JUNIORS/VETS WILL BE BRINGING THIER FILLED IN ENTRY FORM, RIGHT????? ;) ;) ;) ;)

Alan1467 08-08-2007 10:01 AM

emzy 08-08-2007 06:40 PM

So to clarify - are we, or are not, allowed to camp on Saturday night?

Richard Lowe 08-08-2007 08:54 PM

As far as I know it will be OK to camp, and as I understand it the field will be free :)

I don't think I could have made it any clearer that we might have had a problem but we didn't know yet. I do realise this is a little late notice as we as a club apologise.

The centre manager has now confirmed to Dianne we are OK to camp and use the end of the field closest to the track as there is no football game on so it's basically the same as usual. We will also be given the key for the toilets at the running track again as we usually use.

Jim Dixon, his brother Nick and anyone else that helped with the rostrum are OFFICIAL legends and bar 1 more top board it's back to full use with new guard rails all round the top and the step secured and relocated to the side.

What we do need now is someone to do a top cut on the grass friday night as track laying won't take very long on the sat morning.

Considering the track and cabin were under water (water 1.5m up cabin soaking all mowers, electrics, speakers, amp etc :( ) the track is looking good though not like it once was.

We may be looking for volunteers to do a round of scruitineering and or reffing through the day. The club is run by a really small number of people now so all help/understanding much appreciated!

That's only one way to Tiverton... we really must have been insane.

bigred5765 09-08-2007 09:01 AM

so has the problem of getting on and of the field with caravans been solved or do we still have to run the gauntlet or the wall of death to get em on

Carl,

I can only suggest you do whatever Dianne advised when you contacted her to see if it was OK to bring a caravan. It's the same as it's ever been for getting them on and off.

Richard Lowe 09-08-2007 10:56 AM

Somehow I've ended up with both sets of keys (do we only have two?) and I'm not sure if I can make it down on Friday night, I might get chance to come over to drop the keys off to get the mowers out but I'm not 100% sure yet.

That would very much be appreciated. Last night you could walk less than 10 yards and the grass box would need emptying so it's OK but a skim over that draggs the cutting out of the grass would be very helpfull.

I was going to do it but I've finally got a roofing guy to come and look at the roof (leaking) on my house and the only time he can do it is tomorrow night :(

super__dan 09-08-2007 11:02 AM

Just seen Rich's post, hopefully we can work something out here as that last trim really would help in my opinion. Rich, how did the straight clearing go after I left last night?

rcracer 09-08-2007 11:08 AM

No probs..so the mowers are ok after the flood ?

Richard Lowe 09-08-2007 11:12 AM

The mowers were running fine last night :)

We managed to get about half of the straight cleared but we havn't touched the banking. It's looking like it will be best to use the grass at the back of the track for the main straight and use the straight as a series of chicanes like we've done before.
