B4 PETE

Does anyone off here know him?

Bought a hauler nearly 3weeks ago an still not got it

Anyone know who or where he is please

Chesty 07-05-2010 07:31 AM

I bought his radio gear & a lipo saddle pack from his 'Giving up' for sale post.

After a couple of PMs & an email it was posted 10 days after I paid, but it arrived safely the next day as described (well, almost!)

He said he'd been working away, hence the delay (which sounds completely feasible).

I have no problem with the guy, the purchase or the transaction, but it seemed ironic that he wanted me to pay instantly (he agreed to hold it for me until I got home from college to pay), but then didn't post it for ages:confused:

Sounds like others have been delayed more than me (there's another in the trader feedback too)

Thanks for the reply pal

I should give him the benefit of doubt i guess - though 3 weeks is pushing it...

Hopefully my bag will turn up soon

I did get a pm from a buyer that had been waiting 4 weeks for an item from him. Not sure what the outcome was with this one though.

I haven't seen him on MSN for a few days now, but he's a sound guy so I'm sure there's a reason

I think the moral here is buyer beware, not with ref to this guy, but just generally buying off people you don't know, I've bought off many people with very mixed results. some take ages, others are quick, some reply to messages and others don't. sometimes it's as described and sometimes it's not and really there is no comeback, so unless it's something cheap it's a gamble.

Hope you get your hauler mate

B4 Pete used to race at our club, and I know one of our members has his mobile number.

If you PM AdamS (http://www.oople.com/forums/member.php?u=7239) he should be able to provide the phone number for Pete.

Chris.

Me too....I brought a motor off him 3 weeks ago and its still not here:mad::mad::mad::mad:

If he's taken the payments and not got round to posting after at least one week then this is a no no http://www.oople.com/forums/images/icons/icon13.gif

If he has proof of posting then he's in the clear as it's then the Shipping Service that's at fault. Lets hope it's the latter.

Suppose thats what i was looking for - he certainly seemed a sound guy (once he offered to help me out with some Durango parts, x-rings for free) however they ddint actually come!

If he's sound enough guess he's just busy....

Yep course its a gamble etc -though everyone i have bought off from here i have found to be very good (all honest etc)

Like you say there is no come-back, unless of course i had an address, not adverse to knocking on someones door!

bodgit 07-05-2010 09:38 AM

Assuming you paid by Paypal "for goods" then you do have comeback. Look up their rules on how to claim for non delivery.
If you paid by gift then you have no comeback.

shanks 07-05-2010 09:52 AM

maybe not through paypal

though i have offer consideration and acceptance - which forms a contract under common law - so with contact details i can take him to court

Reading this (& the other:o) thread it sounds like I've been one of the fortunate ones.

Thinking back, one thing struck me as slightly dodgy when I bought it. I asked for a picture of the stuff before I payed (as it was over £200 in total). I was told I couldn't have one because his camera was broken. That night his Durango appeared on eBay with pictures:confused:

He offered me a money back garantee if it wasn't as described (& looking at his number of posts & good feedback) - I went ahead anyway.

It sucks for the people who haven't got their stuff yet - but it would appear that he's just been too busy so they should be OK.

I agree that keeping stuff for over a week after you've taken the money is out of order:thumbdown:

I know it couldn't be enforced but a set of seller & buyer 'general rules' may help stop this type of thing:confused:

Funny that he told me about a month ago he had bought an iphone so he could accsess the forum,id waited over 3 weeks for my parts, then as someonehas already said,he had promised to put some "extras" in which never materialised,it was a esc i had bought which was badly wrapped inside it damaged the fan ,i just could not be bothered with him anymore as hes excuses were random to say the least, but when i saw he had decided to sell up i was glad,i was close to going upto durham to collect said items,
hopefully your parts will turn up:)
