15th -16th May Stannington Regional Thread

NERCR Regional
Stannington.

Google map is available here,

Google map

Camping is available from friday after 5pm, anyone arriving before that time will find the gates to the field locked, there will be a charge of £5 per caravan/tent for those camping.

BBQ are allowed aslong as they are lifted off the floor so as not to burn the grass, hopefully there’ll be a burger van there aswell (still waiting for confirmation)

Some videos of the track are available here,

The surface is an artificial dirt used for horses, a large amount of different tyres have been tried, but upto now the best we’ve found are yellow minispikes.

You will be able to pit indoors, although all generators will have to be left outside the door and an extension ran inside.

Any questions feel free to ask and I’ll do my best to answer them or find someone who can.

With regards to the non regional heat as was said at Batley with this being a 2 day event if your in the regional class for that day wether 2wd or 4wd you won’t be able to compete in the non regional class.

Any questions or comments post them here.

Thanks

Peter

Hi Peter,

Will the gates be shut during the night?

We are bringing the caravan up and should be there just after 5pm, but
I have to pick Paul up form Newcastle station and I think his train will not be in until 10 to 10:30pm, therefore I will not be back until around 11pm on Friday night.

The gates will be shut and locked later on, but I'll have the key so can open them up for you.

Hi guys, just thought I'd help with a few of the questions: gates will be locked at night but if you let me or Peter or Bill know then access can be arranged!

Good news we have a burger van there all weekend from Friday

We have a big rostrum not the one in the corner used for smaller meets.

Theres some hard standing for caravans but this will be on first come first serve basis.

Also theres a nice country pub in Stannington village (walkable but may be better to drive) a curry house 10 minute walk the other direction and a fuel station next to the curry house. Also providing the weather is nice on Sat evening we will try and make the campsite a fun place to be too.

Hope to see you all there Friday Sat & Sun

Regards Harry V

Can't see any reason why not, just the same as it was at Batley where the non-regional heat is for fun only

cmgreen 14-05-2010 06:04 PM

What time can we get there from?

chris68nufc 15-05-2010 06:36 PM

Well done to Gregg Williams for the win after a close last leg of the A Final.

Shifta 16-05-2010 07:44 PM

Thank god you didn't make the 4wd A Final, or we'd never have reached a decision on how to score it. As it was it took only about 3 minutes for the 10 gentlemen involved :p :D

And this because I complained when 'you' said at 10:45 AM sat morning you were redoing the heats according to 'F' rating and moved 3 F3's into heat 4 and 1 F2 (ME) from heat 4 into heat 3.

Or was it because I complained when the computer missed me a lap in the 3rd round. It's not as if you could gain any time by cutting the loop either. I noticed it missed me a one in the 3rd leg of the final as well. I suppose that will be my fault for having a PT. It's never ever missed me a lap before anywhere. And the fact the computer kept saying, car 5 is missing, car 3 is missing, car 2 is missing, car 4 is missing, car 7 is missing, car 1 is missing, car 6 is missing ALL day its hardly suprising people could miss some laps...

And after checking the results I didn't see your 10 second penalty added when you left the rostrum mid race after totalling your car... tut tut...

:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:
