CAT SX2

So now that the Cougars are out of the door when will the SX2's start shipping? :woot:

sime46 02-05-2010 07:33 AM

Next week? Sure I was told next week. I think the parts that held up the Cougar were also the ones missing from the Cat....or something along those lines.

Ross 02-05-2010 03:47 PM

I was at @ HNMC today, there was a chap from Schumacher there speaking to the guys from MiM, he said they are hoping to get them out by the end of the week,so like mentioned above they should be around in the shops by next week .

Thinking about selling the micro to get one my self

No No No, do not follow that line of thinking. Micro ALL THE WAY! Sell your soul if you have to but do not sell the micro.

Hope this will mean that the big bore shocks will be released this week as I'm sticking with the original Cat SX, but changing the shocks.

bigred5765 03-05-2010 08:48 PM

well mikey all the parts to build them are available why not do what we have done and buy em in bits

So they are, they weren't when I last checked on Friday.

Might just have to price them up.

.... I'll wait as it's far cheaper to buy them as a set

bigred5765 03-05-2010 09:06 PM

its £20 a pair dearer to but them in bits but you'll get the spring you'll need and not what ever comes with them, plus you can have them now

frogger 05-05-2010 08:31 PM

Any further news on the SX2 my Schumy friends? Need SX2 now please.

frogger 06-05-2010 12:29 PM

I was just reliably informed 'end of this week/start of next week'.

That'll make a couple of friends of mine happy :)

I'm sticking with my original Cat SX with the exception of maybe selling some Losi shocks to fund a set of big bore shocks.

frogger 06-05-2010 02:34 PM

Same here. We still have a CAT SX and the SX2 will be an addition to team Frogger, not a replacement. I am also waiting for the assembled big bore shocks for the SX.

Also, when are the alloy gearbox tops becoming available again!?

eichkay 06-05-2010 02:46 PM

Ive just loaded up my existing sx with the sx2 parts i want on there, just waiting on the shocks now.. the new arms are very impressive and look super strong and survived a 30min race at our local of which i won by 5 laps.

mikeyscott 06-05-2010 02:56 PM

I've got the SX2 chassis and top plate and wishbones, however I'm back to medium flex wishbones as I never really had a breakage issue. Shocks are on the front so again no need for the moment.

Just would like big bore shocks as I've been super impressed on the Cougar SV. Got some Ghea pistons coming too, 5 hole and soon to be 6 and 4. I'll put these in the Cat SX first.

Order the new hangers for the rear, but don't think they are necessary. Otherwise a year on my SX is still superb.

Car has all the other bits such as one way layshaft, alloy shock mounts, all three castor blocks in the box etc.

frogger 18-05-2010 04:06 PM

Any more news on the SX2? I'm gonna keep asking till I have it in my hands.

bigred5765 18-05-2010 07:59 PM

The next race at EPR June 5/6, round 3 of the National series.
The next meeting after that is the re arranged 4wd regional, which has not been scheduled yet.

My SX2 that arrived today, is built now. Another video of build step by step will be up in 2 days (I hope, will be busy tomorrow so it have to wait for a while).

R&M-RACEWAY_ANTHONY 28-05-2010 10:22 PM

got our cats to tried it round the buggy track today ant the steering arm has snaped after 1 lap at low speed so be carfull a know wht you thinking and i wasent beeing rough with it at all

frogger 28-05-2010 11:38 PM

Got my SX2 on the track for the first time tonight and on the first lap it fell of the side of the jump at about 1mph and broke both the plastic front pivot blocks. Gladly someone at the track (thanks Jess!) had alloy blocks and got me going. I had quite a few crashes after that and the car held up all night no problems. Awesome car straight out of the box once you sort out a few of the crappy new plastic bits.
