What could you do with this!!!

Thanks to Paul Carr and others, this may be our venue for midweek racing, any comments etc welcomed.

It doesn't really give too much of an idea on size from this pic, but the white building in the corner is 2 portacabin portable offices.

It's approx 23,000 square foot in total and would have enough scope to have a large 1/8th and 1/10th combined offroad track (suitably shortened for 1/10th) and a onroad track, aswell as pitting etc

You even have a large door at the end to fit the 100 odd trucks through to bring in the dirt

Not sure but I can practically guarantee it won't be a dirt track, I worked it out roughly to needing over 1000 tonnes of dirt to fill the area a metre deep across it's area and then when the lease is over what do you do with all that.

So that would leave a mixed surface track, concrete, carpet, astro, anything else I can find.

Woop... I'm getting all excited :woot:

chris68nufc 29-04-2010 06:04 PM

Whos Paul Carr, i like him anyway!!

Things like this come along every now and then, if this place is a going to take off then i think everybody connected to Seaham/Jarrow etc should try their best to support it and help out.
I can lend a hand with anything DIY really or if i dont know i can get it sorted.
Seems really good, Washington is a pretty easy area to get access to since the A1 flies past it!

Come back Pete, all is forgiven!

A mixed surface would be good and cheaper then dirt.

Yep, didn't they build the A1 into a Motorway as a fast Washington By-Pass for all non-washington residents? :woot:

P.S. Good Job Peter & Paul, but what happened to Mary? (You have to be old or a quiz fiend to get that comment.)

chris68nufc 29-04-2010 07:03 PM

nobby 30-04-2010 08:17 AM

i know what i could do with that building.
i could turn it into a transport hub for my company to make bags of dosh:thumbsup: you would have to find another warehouse for the track, but in the meantime you can use it:D

It's ours as we found it first so mits off.

It's going to be mint or it'll make us skint either way Seaham isn't going anywhere.

Bring it on.

TBH Packster, any club/rc organisation thats willing to add to the membership numbers for any class at all, Micro, 8th scale Nitro/ 8th brushless,1/12th,Touring car,1 10th Off road are more than welcome to enquire. Im sure you were only joking with the above comment but i think you should concentrate on being Regional rep(God help us) and leave this venture to other people.
After last nights meeting i think we are only a tiny little bit away from giving this venture a shot.
So then....if you are interested in an all under 1 roof including toilets, purpose built tracks, extraction system, well lit indoor facility then make some noise and let us know who will be interested to join us.

alanw43 03-05-2010 09:00 AM

looks awsome with loads of potential good luck lads

You don't race every week. You need to get your priorities right and give your lass the hairy side of your hand now and again....

dpackster1980 03-05-2010 02:05 PM

Believe me if the new place is running then she'll definately get the hairy side if she tries and stop me going mid week racing.
