You see them only at the team drivers cars

Unless you want to bling up your ride, I do not see the point in the blue
turnbuckles. The stock steel ones are strong!
I think the car looks better with the silver turnbuckles...just my opinon.
Too much blue bling is a bad thing. The tottally destroys the look of the car.

nobody can help me :(

AaronR 30-04-2010 05:22 PM

Most of us can help, but it will be without Tamiya ball studs and cups....

HPI studs (75115 & 75116) with Losi grey rigid cups (LOSA6016) are a great solution!

marco NL 03-05-2010 08:16 PM

thanks mate

MHeadling 03-05-2010 09:56 PM

Will a pack of each of the Hpi ball studs be enough to do a car??

Also will a pack of the losi ball cups do a car too?

Fredrik Emilsson 03-05-2010 10:34 PM

I use LO-A-6015 (white Losi ball cups). 16 ball cups/pack.
Ball studs HB-61582 (13 mm) and HB-61581 (10.3mm). 8 ball studs/pack.

Or as Aaron said:
Losi grey rigid cups (LO-A-6016)=16 ball cups/pack.
HPI studs (75115 & 75116)=4 pieces/pack

I purchased from rcmodel.com.hk.

Tamiya grey ball cups should be available when TRF201 is released.

fastinfastout 04-05-2010 03:46 AM

he wants to know how many sets of ball studs to buy

MHeadling 04-05-2010 09:26 AM

I am just about to do an order, but how may packs of:

Ball studs HB-61582 (13 mm) and HB-61581 (10.3mm). 8 ball studs/pack.

Will I need to do the car??

Welshy40 04-05-2010 10:11 AM

Kyosho ball cups fit on directly to the tamiya balls and is what i used on my 501x

Yep, they do, the big long ones are nice n strong. I'm going to have them on mine when I get fed up of the kit black ones...

MHeadling 04-05-2010 11:21 AM

Thats an easier option! Do you happen to know the part no??

simoncrabb 04-05-2010 11:54 AM

Kyoshos Hard Ball End Set 97021H

There's 12 big uns and 4 tiny uns in the pack.

Welshy40 04-05-2010 12:07 PM

UM112 but you will need to buy two lots for your car as there is only six long ones in each pack.

simoncrabb 04-05-2010 12:32 PM

UM112 aren't the big long ones?

MHeadling 04-05-2010 02:29 PM

Once I know what part no to order I think I am going the Kyosho route as the HB ball studs are a bit of a pain to get at the moment.

simoncrabb 04-05-2010 02:43 PM

Kyoshos Hard Ball End Set 97021H

Google that part number and you'll see they should be what you want.

AaronR 04-05-2010 03:30 PM

You can also use two of the very short Kyosho ball cups (that come with the set that Simon linked above) for the servo turnbuckle/linkage. They are the same length as the short Tamiya cups. :)

MHeadling 04-05-2010 03:33 PM

Good stuff! I have just ordered a set up and see how they go!

I didnt know about this one, thanks for that.

Something I can order as well instead of the normal ones, and looks better than UM112. Cheers.

fastinfastout 08-06-2010 05:41 PM

bump

are the new ball cups available to the public, which only the team drivers had access to?

want my 201x built right from the start, when I get it

AaronR 08-06-2010 06:03 PM

I'll say it again...

fastinfastout 09-06-2010 06:12 AM

I want tamiya ball cups on my 201x, as I already have tc5 ball studs/losi white ball cups on my current car.

Just changing to good ball cups is the easiest to achieve.

Does anyone have the part number for the trf ball cups?

Fredrik Emilsson 09-06-2010 06:57 AM

201 comes with new grey ballcups. No need to change them.

The part number in the TRF201 manual for the ball cups is the same as the ones previously used in the 511. I don't think these are newer ones unless tamiya made a running change without updating the part numbers?

fastinfastout 09-06-2010 09:01 AM

yes and also the ball cups used on the 201x are the same as the db01, which everyone is swapping out for stronger ones.

maybe they will never be released

Fredrik Emilsson 09-06-2010 10:14 AM

Trust me, 201 comes with new grey ball cups. Take a look in the 2wd thread.
Tamiya made a running change without updating the part numbers.

mattybucks 28-07-2010 09:08 AM

I need some of these for Sunday's regional at DMS, as the kyosho ones I have on my 511 need replacing, are they in the country yet?

I know the hobby company still have the old ones, as I called them yesterday. Has anyone been using the old ones? What are they like?

If anyone has any spare then please pm me paypal waiting.

DaveG28 28-07-2010 09:40 AM

I'm sure I'll be the only one to say this but....I prefer the old ones!! Have not popped a turnbuckle in over 6 mtgs with them! I have a feeling they just had a bad batch tbh..
