looks like it'll be a nice relaxed day then, compared to the nats! :)

See you all there!

Shaun 'TheSheep' Atkinson 21-04-2010 08:29 AM

Try and keep my shock towers in one piece this week eh!? :woot:

antnee 21-04-2010 10:49 AM

Weather forecast is looking good!

jcb 21-04-2010 12:37 PM

Hoping for a nice sunny day to

I assume it's an all grass track, and would I be right to assume that heat order is F5's in the early heats to F1's in the later heats. Just want to check as it's a bit of a drive, planning on being there between half eight and nine all being well.

All grass, might be some astro covering the jumps though. Yup F5-F1 run order

Just finished putting all the drivers in to the race program. You are currently in Heat 10!! Assuming that I don't have a massive influx of pre-bookers you should stay there. If not you will be in heat 11

The Doctor 21-04-2010 09:32 PM

Hey Mr J, am I still down as an F5? Haven't changed my booking in details because it should sort itself out after the 1st round of each series but it'd be nice to be in the right heat this time.

antnee 21-04-2010 09:44 PM

And have you stuck me down for 4wd now?

(btw, its rapid!)

Shaun 'TheSheep' Atkinson 22-04-2010 10:32 AM

WEATHER: A bright day with top tempratures of 19 degrees *SLIGHT* chance of rain in the south east

Good to hear the +ve feedback for WBMCC again, thanks guys .

Hopefully we can put on another good event when we host 2WD in June. Apparently it was p-ing it down in Nottingham during the afternoon, so we were very lucky with the weather. Although I guess some rain would've helped put out the LiPo fire...

Yes, we was so lucky with that big black cloud near the end of the day as when I got home only 8 miles away it looked like it had been raining all day!!!

reg 27-04-2010 02:36 PM

had a good day untill the final, a 3 corners gap wasnt enought time for the marshall to step once and turn my car over:confused:,2nd car passed me(still on my roof)3rd car hit me and flipped over, marshall flips them over to carry on in second(still on my roof)the grid now pass me and im now facing the wrong way and last, marshal rolls me over to leave me facing the wrong way,the red mist has now desended, drove like a COCK(shut up grumpy shambles:woot:)and so took the car off the track before my head exsploded, then sat in the car sucking my thumb:thumbsup::woot:

telboy 27-04-2010 06:40 PM

Sweet pics Chris. I saw you taking pics on the main strsight. Damn hard to get decent shots that close up af fast moving cars.

What camera settings did you use?

Looking at the photos (which are ok) I'd suggest:

1. Increase ISO => allows a faster shutter speed at same exposure
2. Increase aperture => faster shutter speed for same exposure but reduced depth of field
3. Set shutter speed to around 1/250sec => avoid blur but keep motion in background, or > 1/500 sec to freeze motion
4. Use a longer focal length (or zoom lens) => you can be further away to allow a smoother panning motion & further reduce depth of field.
5. Take pictures of Anthony's car because it's either broken & not moving, upside down & not moving, or just moving slowly.

Keep meaning to bring my SLR to a Regional but then I think I'd just forget to race!

Thanks Paul, I think I will bring when we go outside on a Firday night and pratice and pratice and pratice!! I would love a longer lens but they seem very expensive!!
I tried to take pictures of Ant's new Blast on the track but I didn't see it on there....lol.
You always forget your SLR, thats not very OCD is it??

Yeah, that's a good guide. Pretty much repeats my points above together with some example pictures. Then it's a case of practice makes perfect.
