PaulRotheram 17-03-2006 09:01 PM

stu the southport link on your site isnt right, its www.srcc.co.uk

soon to be remade, hopefully.

also, i think them regional results are wrong, as i was announced 2nd? as i actually remember lapping mr mclarney! which is a rareity

sorry, found another problem. in round one it says no one got TQ or the win.. some one must of won!?! :p

jimmy 17-03-2006 09:16 PM

speaking of which, if anyone fancys carrying the torch of the batley website let me know, I've done a lot to it since taking it over but I'm finding I dont have the time to do it justice with updates etc now.

Oscar 18-03-2006 07:43 AM

I can handle all the updating if you like Jim

Stu 18-03-2006 02:42 PM

Hi Paul,
I'll update the URL.
The results are exactly as supplied from Eric, the HTML is writted by the club's computer system, (this isn't to say you've not got a good point however!).

PaulRotheram 18-03-2006 07:58 PM

ill have to have a word with eric tommorrow then.. not being robbed of my 2nd place

Why??? Firstly it wasn't possible to do 4wd without doing a Saturday, now it's not possible to do 2wd without involving a Saturday. Considering the popularity of the 2wd class this seems a very strange decision.

Northy 23-03-2006 07:44 AM

Are these dates for the good of the people who actually race in and support the regional series, or for some other reason?

G

Kash 23-03-2006 11:20 AM

I have no idea why they have been changed.

Derek B mailed the changed dates out last night.

There could be a number of reasons behind it but your not going to please everyone at the end of the day.

emzy 23-03-2006 07:55 PM

Now all they need to do is reduce the 2wd requirement to a more 'normal' level (3 of 5 for example?) and hey, life is groovy!

ahem.

Oscar 24-03-2006 05:11 PM

So whats the competition like in the North West region for 2wd? Anyone know? (theirs are all on Sundays)

Stu 24-03-2006 06:40 PM

Depends on who shows up, sorry that's a bit obvious, at the moment it's a bit of an unknown.

I'm going to be badgering a few of the 'mid-north' people over the weeking, suggesting they can race 2wd NW, 4WD NE and if they feel like it 'non-championship' heat(s) at the 2WD NE.

Myself and Mr W have done that in previous years and it does make for a varied (if busy) summers racing.

Oscar 24-03-2006 07:33 PM

Stu,
(N/W) Dates on Bury Metro site don't match yours on your summer 2006 calendar, I guess yours are correct?

PaulRotheram 24-03-2006 07:43 PM

heres the dates for north west regionals oscar:

23th April :- Southport Round 1
14th May :- Bury Round 2
4th June :-Southport Round 3
18th June :- Bury Round 4
2nd July :- Southport Round 5
20th August :-Bury Round 6

i agree with stu via 'unknown' we do have a few good racers for 2wd, however we are hoping this year people from bury attend the north west regionals to make the racing peddegree even better. southport are making a really big effort this year to attend the bury meets, hopefully the same will be returned from bury racers and northwest can become a popular series once again, the way it should be.

RobHatcliffe 24-03-2006 08:50 PM

I'm doing the NE series for my points scoring, but intend to race the NW series as a guest - racing as a guest at my own club, how wierd will that feel

PaulRotheram 24-03-2006 10:08 PM

any idea about other members rob? we want to make regionals at southport successfull too, so we can bring more people to the club, to promote it more hopefully.

Sorry, the third Southport date is forward, it don't clash with the interclub any longer.

regionals06.pdf

Hopefully ther Bury drivers that want to score points in the NE regions will race a Southport as non-points scoring.

The increasing popularity of the national series may bring back the chase for an F2 from region in order to get an national entry, there may be those who will want to do the NW if they think it will be an easier series to get an F2 'in-the-bag'.

It'll be an interesting year.

RobHatcliffe 24-03-2006 10:42 PM

Not sure to be honest Paul. I know of a few others that are planning a full NE campaign, but I think others will be put off by the early mornings and miles involved. We're setting off at 5.00am for Teesdale next Sunday - ouch!

At Bury we have enjoyed a boom through the winter months in new & returning members, they may find a proper series at the two local tracks very appealing. I'm talking about the regular club guys who would not even consider entering a national.

I will certainly encourage the members to support the regionals.

I chose to race NE because I like the variety of tracks and the 'big' car turnouts. I don't do nationals because my 10 year old son is not ready for them yet, and I won't go racing without him.

I hope the NW series enjoys a great year

Either your walking or you will be first there Rob ;)
Teesdale Can't be more than 2 hours from Bury surely? Durham is a good bit further up, but both are only a minute or two off the main A road.

RobHatcliffe 24-03-2006 10:54 PM

"Teesdale Can't be more than 2 hours from Bury surely?"

John - Bury may be my home club, but I don't live there. I live in Flixton which about 30 mins South. I'm reckoning on about two and a half hours to Teesdale, although I may do it a bit quicker cos I'm gonna nick the wife's Galaxy for the day (she just doesn't know it yet)

Spencer Mulcahy 25-03-2006 09:49 AM

That is about the same time as i will be setting off its a bit silly realy but i am looking forward to it as the track looks realy good an old bowling green. No lie in for me over the next three weeks indoor tomorrow teesdale next week and then kiddy

emzy 26-03-2006 08:55 PM

I think I may collapse from lack of sleep by the Easter holidays... Chesterfield last weekend (4.30am Sat morning), Indoor finals this weekend, Teesdale next weekend, Kiddy weekend after.

Hmm Teesdale... bit flat. And the jumps they had last year were a bit harsh! We'll see... should be interesting - I haven't raced 2wd since August!

WHITTLER555 27-03-2006 04:39 PM

Hello! Probably dangerous for me to be let loose in a forum but here goes.

Maybe if Kash is watching this thread he could let us know what time we are likely to be starting racing on Sunday at Teesdale.

If we are not starting till 9.00 - 9.30am then no-one needs to get out of bed at 5.00am!

There is only one 5.00 in my life and that's when I have my tea!

Nothing worse than getting up early and get to racing only to sit about for hours waiting.

However, from talking to Kash and Gemma on Sunday, it may be that they will need some assistance throughout the day with running the meeting so hopefully as many people as possible will help, me being one of them!:D

jimmy 27-03-2006 04:53 PM

The whole early start thing is super alien to me too. I am like a zombie if i havent had my required 10 hours! :p

not been to teesdale before, if they can make some jumps (like, permenant) ones like the ones at batley on the weekend, maybe with a flatter run up and longer down slope, that would be good.. or the ones at the euros last year were good.
I hear its all flat at teesdale but that they have permenant use of it ??

I saw the nice looking building they had before some sod burnt it down.. any idea if there is anything rebuilt there or is there just ruins ?

G30RGE 27-03-2006 05:29 PM

There are new Race Control buildings, toilets, rostrum built into hillside with steps etc... and they were building some 'permanent' jumps.

more info on the web site: http://www.teesdaleparkbuggyclub.co.uk

As for the start - I'll let Kash confirm but the Regional rules state 7.00am Practice starts :o

daz 27-03-2006 05:40 PM

talking to one of the lads from teeside and there is a permanent jump and some mole hills placed around the track to make things interesting..

jimmy 27-03-2006 06:36 PM

nice, is there plenty of parking ?

daz 27-03-2006 06:53 PM

yeah plenty of parking and pitting space. went there last year and its a fantastic place just hope the weathers ok...

Scary :-)

Anyway yeah the rules say 7..eeek..However I can't imagine racing starting till after 9 as usual.

I'll be there 7ish or what ever time i roll out of bed..

Northy 28-03-2006 07:11 AM

This early start lark is getting stupid! People just seem to want to get there first!

Is it possible to get a bit more organised on time a-la Nationals to stop this madness? :)

Spencer Mulcahy 28-03-2006 08:43 AM

what time will booking in be closed as I dont think I will get there before 8 if I set off at six (Dont want to set off any earlyer) Will it de run like nats two rounds of timed practise.

Don't worry to much I can't see booking in closing before 8.30
as long as there's not well over 100 drivers (which i can't see)

I personally can't see people arriving till around 8ish anyway...7 is a bit early for most..inc me.
