York Regional Update???
 

Hi all,
Hopefully the 4WD guys will get this when they get home!
What's the news from York? Looking forward to 2WD tomorrow, hoping it's not as wet as Bradford right now!
Anybody got any track pictures?

All was good it rained it stopped it rained a bit more. We raced the finals then it rained heavily. Brilliant track and a good days racing.

Well done Daz on making the A main.:)

Me and garry used our X6's today cos we sold our 4 wheel drives and as you can see by the pic we had fun :D

weather wasn't to bad until half way through the finals.

rain started @ 15:30 here in Teesside before we got the heats underway :( but it didn't rain the club night off
only need brollies under the roof were it leaks :D

oh and the astro full can be a pain to blow off the car with the air comp after a run

Well I have just got back and given my car a quick clean to get the thick of it off. But all i can say is, i have never seen hail stones as big in my life, and it rain so much at the same time. The hail stones were as big as 20 pence coins, but it all had to happen half way through the final i was in, the C - final. It started raining so hard so fast that we were ordered off of the rostrum. I quickly though of going under the rostrum and did so until i saw how close the lightning was getting, then as soon as the rain started to die down me and Martin just plane legged it to the car as fast as we could. I was just unbeleiveable how much of the track was flooded, at least 2-3 inches deep at least. :o

mental weather conditions today.... :D .. brilliant track also.. loved every corner!

Thanks to all the York members and helpers who prepared two great tracks. Really enjoyed both days, who says its no fun when its raining!!!

It was worth being there just to see the thunder storm and hail!!

No, got half way though the C final and was stopped due to the rain and the lightening was to close for comfort with all those antenna's!!!!!

As for points, completed final results were upheld and the rest went off qualifying.

it was soo good that rain lol... i dont think the rain had time to soak into the ground and then puddle, it just puddled streight away lol :D

I had a hailstone to the forehead, and one to the ankle... it left a bruise!

The weather was a bit mad today but the strange thing was Tom predicting the forecast correctly. I don't know what this tells us about him...

Hi mate yeah there was some interesting driving at times wasn't there.:D

I couldnt believe it. Literally 10 minutes before the storm hit, I was laying back on a towel and sunbathing! Then rain and hail of biblical proportions! Totally mad but strangely entertaining to watch. Until I slipped on my ar$e and got soaked!

The size of those hailstones were awesome! I thought the windscreen on the car was going to go through. 'twas a top storm....for 10 mins!?

We were in he middle of our 'c' final, well 4 laps or so, and it just bucketed down so fast that i just got off the rostrum because i didn't want to ruin the tranny, as I haven't got a bag for it. I wasn't the only one to voluntry leave the rostrum before the lightening came though.

...I think we should've carried on!:D :D :D

through the day after every round i got faster i got a fast 10 in round 1. a faster 10 in round 2, then a medium 11 and anouther 11 3 - 5 seconds faster in the last round of qualifing :D ... and i was on yellows all day ! . me and phil campell had some close racing whichw as cool lol we both got 11s. in round 2 he got 11 in 5 mins 29.29 lol and i got 11 in 5 mins 29.28 in round 3 how close is that !

in the end i qualed 6 th in the d final, my highest so far in 2wd at a regional with that many there lol :) .. i think the reason why is cos it was an x-6 not a losi lol :D :D ..

Rain was no where near as bad here. But driving through town just now and they're putting sandbags out at all of the doorways on one of the main roads...!

on the way home we turned left out of the event and one of the streets before that pond in haxby was like a cannal lol all that water caused that street to flood in the space of 20 mins ! lol glad i dont live in that street poor buggers lol

A great day of racing, thanks to all involved. Was glad I didn't make the C final :D . It was quite scary being stood up there in the D, ariel pointing upwards, and lightening rapidly aproaching :p .
