Got to say Richard did a superb job of taking pole at the last round at worksop.

not only did he give an awsome display of what this car can do he took time out to help me set mine up, and expalin the front inline axles, made hell of a difference to my car, so a big thank you richard :thumbsup:

How did the inline steering blocks change the handling? What exactly was different?

Looked very good I was nearly going to buy another one LOL. That is the best signing of the year all round top bloke and fast as fook well done x factory.:thumbsup:

What shock tower is that on the back?

In line blocks make it a much more linear, direct feel when turning a corner

sorry the OT, in another topic i ask for help for a new motor for my X6, i like to change my SP... i think em GM, the new Sport..

in Portugal, is only a few guys using epic, but only for ine race yet...

i see that is a performance motor, but, can you guys help-me, give-me the feedback if epic motors is a fiable motor?

I still can't get my head round how easy the car was to drive yet was still getting round quickly, I can't wait for the nationals now :thumbsup:

The final was really good fun, even though I didn't quite finish the job we had some very fair, clean and close racing between Neil, Simon (!) and myself :)

Clean close driving..??? you wouldnt have seen Neil take Si up the inside at the end of the sweeper and edge him towards the wall lol thought he was out of it but some quick marshalling that saved him :D

Just a quick one ref the inline axles, so do they make the car steer better, when would you use them neccesarily in an outdoor situation ? wet /dry /astro /grass ?? i have some but have never tried em...:eh?:

The inline axles are a love/hate thing for most people, they make the car feel much more direct and conected to the track. I used them all the time on my B4 but few others did/do, just a case of trying them and seeing if you like how they make the car feel.
The car turns in harder but the balance stays the same through the corner, non of the random mid-corner snatchy steering you get with the trailing axles.

I've not played much with the inline axles, but I know from speaking with Paul in the US that one of the reasons to use them is simply to lengthen the wheelbase. This could be useful if you require a little more stability in the car.

Something I need to play with more on our outdoor tracks here in Aus.

To add to Scott's point: running inline axles here in the states, I leave the caster blocks forward. AE recommends you move the caster blocks back when running inlines; I leave them forward to extend the wheelbase. This gives the car a quicker steering reaction (because of the inlines) but smooths out the steering because there's less weight on the front end (long wheelbase).

Not sure which way Lowe ran them.

Is it the axle thats different or the steering arm or both? I think I am running in-line axles with trailing steering arms. I have seen trailing axles which look offset.

Slightly off topic but does the SV on the new Cougar mean "single venue" because i haven't heard of it raced anywhere else :confused:

Get your setup up Rich! I might be persuaded to upgrade to an X6 then ;)

The axle and block are both different, with trailing the axle is behind the kingpin and held in with an e clip. With the inline's the kingpin goes through the axle and there's a grub screw that goes into the axle and sits on the kingpin.

The setup was the same as the one I posted recently, the only thing I changed was unwinding the rear shock eyelets to get a touch more droop. Also I ran the caster blocks spaced back, I like the front of my cars heavy for more on-power steering :)

The rear ride height is taking into account the thicker part of the chassis at the back, so if you measure straight from there to the ground it's 23mm ;)

Also gearing is now 24/78 on the same Nemesis 7.5.
