talywain track

Dropped in at Talywain today and can confirm that the guys up there have done a sweet job of repairing and relaying the track. It looks pretty much the same as last year but all the whoops, doubles etc are now level and smooth. As for that unpredictable huge double at the far side of the track, well both approach ramp and landing ramp are now level and smooth(Owen cleared it every time with his sc10!!) Oh and for those who didnt like the bumpy straight..I can confirm its is now smoother than a smooth thing!
Well done to all the talywain guys:thumbsup:

DCM 21-03-2010 06:55 PM

boooo the straight was ACE :woot: my Tamiya never had a problem.... lol

weeman 21-03-2010 08:41 PM

I loved the old straight.. kept the blood pumping! Super fast now though

axeman 23-03-2010 07:45 AM

Yes we have made the track as easy as possible for you!!!, no nasty bumps or lips in the carpet, we have also profiled the jumps evenly for you!!!!
I know you 1/10th drivers struggle with the skill to find the fast line on a rallyX track.
Maybe next year you will try out big boy racing 1/8th!!!! :p

weeman 23-03-2010 05:54 PM

Whats all this we business?..you were lying down all day, the only time you sat up was to slurp the gravey off that plate!!;)

steelie600 23-03-2010 06:03 PM

So youve made the track like a pool table for the 10ths?? Its gonna be ace when us truggy boys turn up!!!!

axeman 23-03-2010 06:08 PM

For the truggy nationals there will be an extra 3 lanes going onto the track of pure dirt/grass and some big air jumps!!!!!
All the stuff 1/10 drivers don't like!!!!:p

steelie600 23-03-2010 06:14 PM

Oh you mean all the stuff that breaks the little fragile "TOYS"

Maybe we should compare the lap times of the little toys agiinst the "big" toys!;)

steelie600 23-03-2010 07:26 PM

im up for that!!!

GRIFF55 23-03-2010 07:29 PM

me too, one thing is tho. The 8th 's actually have to go round the track and not just drive over those track markers like usual:p hahaha

steelie600 23-03-2010 07:33 PM

ive mainly race truggy and we dont see track markers as boundaries, merely guide lines!!!

GRIFF55 23-03-2010 07:36 PM

hahaha, i know. I like to watch truggy racing and see what new lines can be used when driving over the track:woot:

steelie600 23-03-2010 07:37 PM

And to see how adventurous you can get in the air!! LOL

mw02veg 23-03-2010 07:40 PM

i dont mean to sound funny here but i dont get it the moneys that come from the little toy car event not needed? im sure another track would quite happily put on the event and not put down the class that the funds are coming from

weeman 23-03-2010 07:42 PM

Me and griff will make him pay for that:p

I do believe I read a challenge on lap times!!!!!!!
OK We will be having a few club sundays of which you will be all invited!! Who ever sets the fastest electric time using the full track not the girly half track you electric folks enjoy:wub. I will then lend you my RC8B with it's RB worlds engine!!! So you can compare....
hows that!!!!
Oh and then I will lend you a brushless 1/8th either the RC8e or the 8.5e and see how you get on with that!!!!!!!
But be warned I will be keeping evidence of lap times and taking pics of your happy faces with 1/8th cars

Belsten 24-03-2010 09:54 AM

GRANT: Can I just point out that the only person on this thread that is directly involved with the club on this thread is Axeman. I promise you he is not knocking the 10th, he has worked harder than anyone to get the track 10th friendly. I've never even heard of the **** jacking the thread to knock 10th's

axeman 29-03-2010 09:40 PM

Axeman is a track building god!!!!!

Dyna 29-03-2010 09:51 PM

I think Axeman is making the track more 1/10 friendly as he is secretly plotting a return to 1/10 electric this season.... why, only on Friday he was reminising about the good old days when he used to race Cougars & Cats at Caldicot years ago ;)

And he was trying to shift some of his 1/8 gear too, i reckon to secretly buy more 1/10 electric gear....

axeman 30-03-2010 05:51 AM

B44 me thinks I can't lie to you all!!!!!
