New B4 shock towers
I've seen on some US forums that the new-style B4 shock towers might be out now (slight change to shock mounting positions and more space for LiPo).
Any idea if these are on UK shelves yet? If so, where? |
Hey
i dont think they have been officialy released yet ? could be wrong though so dont actually have an expected date yet ! |
where did you see about the new shock towers?
|
There are some details here:

On this link are some nice pics of Cavileri's B4 with 4.1 bits and a motor centrering kit on it.
http://rc4ever.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=85&t=1985 I may have a go at the motor centering mod, don't know if it will make much difference?! |
These have been out a while now, Neil was running them at the Euros last year in Spain..;)
|
does anyone know when the new b4.1 pieces will be a available to buy the shock towers looks pretty cool, not too sure on the battery brace as i have it on the sc10 and i find it a pain.
anything else new on the b4.1 except things that have been mentioned? |
If I understand correctly, the inside hole on the new tower is like the drilled 4th hole, so this makes the inside hole on the old tower the middle hole on the new tower? Correct?
Any idea when this will be out? |

do they have a new part number or are they a direct replacement?
|
cheers Col; looks like they are a straight replacement as far as part # is concerned :D

Might be a bit thick here but what does the motor centre-ing kit do? Moves the motor to where?
|
The motor moves across to the right more when looking from the rear. Basically, there are some spacers inserted between the motor plate and gearbox casing.
As someone said before, there was an aftermarket one for the Losi, many many years ago that did the same. Should only require spacers and longer bolts.... |

maybe when the b4.1 is out they will give a list of the new parts as spares or maybe even upgrade parts for the b4.
i would be interested in the motor centering mod, might help keep the weight central |
I was looking on the AE site and the part numbers appear to be the same for the B4 and B4.1, so it's going to be difficult to order the new ones until shops have sold all the old ones.
|
We already ave some new ones on the way to us......
|
How are you planning to differentiate between them on your site Darren?
|
Nice 2wd durango
|
We're not for now, the old ones have run out and the new stock coming is all new spec, having said that we may well add "revised spec" or somthing similiar to the products description when they are here possibly.....
|
New style ones are now in stock.....
Its not dead easy to see the difference visually until you have one of each in your hand, the old outer hole is gone and a new 4th inner hole is now there (meaning that there is still only 3 shock holes). The easiest way to check quickly if you have new or old seems to be that the small area "under the body mount/in between the wing mount holes" is filled in on the new ones whereas the old ones were not and open |
