Team Durango have finally released photos of the upcoming DEX410R - the 'affordable Durango'. The car uses a lot more moulded parts but retains a lot of features from the DEX410 full-specced racer - the most obvious of which is the alloy main chassis plate.
Parts from the DEX410 will be interchangable, giving a clear upgrade path if desired.

it doesn't look mega cheap at all to me. the lack of CF and alu bits is only really noticable when you look really hard.

mpg200 10-03-2010 06:17 PM

I thought I could resist... but now as it's in my price range, I want one

b4pete 10-03-2010 06:29 PM

shock towers look thinner, and i want those side pods.
And the 2mm cvd's!!!!!!

coolcars782 10-03-2010 06:32 PM

Metal Shock Towers :eh?::eh?:

Chrislong 10-03-2010 06:40 PM

It looks the bollocks, it may flex more than the main car with it using some more flexible materials in some areas - which may actually proove to be a good thing ;)

Love the alloy shock towers and 2.0mm cvd's. Car looks great:woot::thumbsup:Would love to see it on a stock run

Twister 11-03-2010 11:26 AM

This car is irresiteble. And it won´t be the first time the budgetversion works better than the pro version-remember The b4 ond others. And it seems easy to upgrade to full fat dex 410. I am really happy that the manufacters make competetive budget cars like b-max db01r and now this.. brilliant:thumbsup:

Bungleaio 11-03-2010 12:02 PM

How come there is only a cvd collar on the rear prop shaft?

DaSloth 11-03-2010 12:08 PM

probably because its over the batteries i guess.

CODMAN 11-03-2010 12:34 PM

Hey, I thought it was supposed to be ball diff? Not Gear diff... What gives?

/tobys 11-03-2010 12:36 PM

any leaks on release date (something firmer than "end of April")?

Lonestar 11-03-2010 12:46 PM

who cares about ball diffs? The gear diffs is one of the main specs of the DEX...

This thing's gonna sell like hot cakes... the price range will also make it affordable to non-competing enthusiasts, so Gerd and the crew will blow up their forecast figures I think.

I WANT ONE TOO!!!

Paul

Big G 11-03-2010 03:39 PM

I think the upgrade options from the pro car will make sales increase too. you can just do all the bits you want to when you're ready :)

We had an R going round at westbridgford today:thumbsup:..........very nice:woot:

Richard Law 14-03-2010 09:35 AM

I thought so Reg, in the right hands it didn't look any slower than anything else.
Marketing geniuses.

Scoobster 14-03-2010 10:08 AM

When it says Lipo Ready 25mm Battery Strap does that mean it will take Lipo's up to 25mm thick? So Lipos like the Intellect 6000mah & Much More 6200mah will be too big? as they are about 31mm thick

Alex H 14-03-2010 10:14 AM

Yes. A 31mm lipo would not even fit under the shaft:p

Scoobster 14-03-2010 10:35 AM

Ah right guess i won't be buying one then :(

andys 28-03-2010 05:34 PM

Any more info on a date for the 'r' ?

Maybe they are keeping it under wraps so as not to hit the full fat versions sales figures too hard ! Can't really see why anyone would buy the full version, unless they update the problem parts, or improve other parts for the 2010 version...
