2WD Round 4 - Stoke - July 8th

I know it a good few weeks away, but if anyone is interested in entering the above regional, please send your details to [email protected]

I will chase everyone up again in the next week or so, as I need all the entries in by the Wednesday of the week leading upto the event. I'll not be about after that, as I'm off to the F1 @ Silverstone.

You're very unlikely to get an entry after that day, so be warned.

_sleigh_ 01-07-2007 04:18 PM

After two weeks of very disappointing weather lets hope that next week gives us something to smile about.

As mentioned above, I'll be away at the end of the week, and therefore require all entries in by Wednesday !!

dudley and kiddy 4wd rearranged dates

i know it is early days but any idea of when these can be run thanks:eh?:

tyreman 01-07-2007 07:16 PM

I personally can't see them being rerun now as there are no more free dates before the end of season finals. S it will probably be best 2 from 3 to count.

GRIFF55 01-07-2007 07:17 PM

Are you hoping Bri:D

tyreman 01-07-2007 07:19 PM

Not really because I need to drop my Coventry score.

GRIFF55 01-07-2007 07:21 PM

Bit of a bugger that, and the weather!!
Can't wait too see what happens

losixxx 01-07-2007 08:04 PM

are any mid-west drivers actually going to this years euro's? as those dates could be a possibility suppose it depends if PW is?

tyreman 01-07-2007 08:28 PM

I think there is about 6-8, I can see why you would want it to be run when the euros are on, as all of those attending the euros would be ahead of you so more points for you:rolleyes:
Chris, Paul will be in Finland with the British team.

as if :D

as you said then bri unless there's a saturday race, can't see a weekend free :(

_JP_ 01-07-2007 11:49 PM

i think theres 1 weekend free after the euros?

maybe a sat and sunday meeting at kiddy??

_sleigh_ 02-07-2007 12:03 AM

The only weekends between now and September 23rd are;

22nd July - Ruled out because of clash with Euro's
29th July - Ruled out because of clash with Euro's
9th Sept. - Ruled out because of BCL meeting at Oswestry, and this club does have quite a few members that also race Regionals.

I will be starting a thread to discuss the possibilities for the 4WD championship. Look out for it in the next 24 hours.

im in the same boat as you bri :( , need to drop my oz score so have to have a good score at marston if its only 2 from 3 ..

_JP_ 02-07-2007 11:45 AM

its worse for me, I didn't do cov, had a shocker as Oz!
so the only way to keep my F2 is at Kid,Dudley and Marston.

2wd my season is destroyed as I missed kiddy due to being in A&E :(

markwilliamson2001 02-07-2007 11:51 AM

I was hoping to do the original kiddy, but now the re-run has been cancelled as well, I have not done any rounds because of the cancelled dudley meeting and not going to the first two meetings of the year in 4wd.

Hope we have something happen, and soon. It would seem that some clubs with indoor venues may have to be used to sort out the problem with the weather we have had over the last few weeks!

Good luck Phil (and co.) coming up with a solution! I am sure you will make the right one.

here we go again:D
most other places say sunny but stoke says rain

neiloliver 02-07-2007 09:06 PM

Is the Stoke track at the same location as the winter indoor racing? the Fenton Manor Lesiure centre?

N

tyreman 02-07-2007 09:16 PM

No it's at some school that I can't remember the name of.

Check the Mid-west web site there should be an address and map on there.

losixxx 03-07-2007 04:09 PM

sunday Morning 14 °c 14 °c1 rain 25.3 mm 100 %http://www.metcheck.com/IMAGES/GENERIC/ICONS/WIND/N.gif7 mph

so who reckons we will be racing sunday then :D :D

Mossy 03-07-2007 04:32 PM

The area we will be racing on seems ok at the moment. Its a little damp but the area normally dries quickly. Hopefully we should be ok

_sleigh_ 03-07-2007 04:36 PM

That's clever, you're in Dudley :D

Seriously, thanks for the update. Spoke to Geoffo last night and he says it looks OK for the weekend, but obviously trying to predict the forecast would be hard.

Updates will follow (from me or Mossy) on the situation, and should the worst happen when Geoff will send out an e-mail in my absense.

Don't forget, get your entries in early!!!!

Got it, it's only five minutes from my work.

grindog 04-07-2007 09:47 AM

If anybody is interested in running your 4wd Buggies at the Stoke 2wd Regional, Geoff has said that he will be willing to put a heat on for us. You can contact him at [email protected]
Thanks, John

JonB 07-07-2007 12:13 PM

Jamesy 07-07-2007 06:35 PM

The weather doesn't look bad for a change!

Is the school well sign posted? This'll be the first time I go to Stoke.... Is there any more directions I need to know?

Is the track grass?

andy reeves 07-07-2007 08:38 PM

is it the school at the back of the sports centre as shown on the clubs website?

neiloliver 07-07-2007 08:53 PM

dont think so Andy, the indoor track is at Fenton. I believe the outdoor is at Wolstanton. I dont think there is a map on the club website, you need to look at the mid west website, the only problem is that the red circle appears a little too high, i think the school is the building about 100m south of the red circle...

Can anyone confirm all this?

So what did people think of the meeting? It was good to be back racing again. I thought the track held up very well considering all the rain we had and it was definatly a challange when the track got slippy. I had a good race with JP in the final but there was just not enough grip to get past :D

sorry Chris it wasn't meant to be a show stopper :( yea good race Andy, it was a hard fight and I had to use plenty of defensive tight lines into corners!.
