Team Durango 410R details and pricing

Team Durango have announced the price of their forthcoming DEX410R electric buggy. The budget version of the all singing DEX410, the 'R' version will weigh in at Ģ210 - placing it slap bang in the middle of its closest competitors pricing.

Team Durango:
Team Durango has made its name around top quality and innovative thinking. This no-compromise approach can make Team Durango cars a little too expensive for some, leaving cars like the DEX410 affordable for only the fortunate few. Team Durango ‘R’ kits will change this.

For Team Durango, ‘R’ means Regular Racing specification. Our ‘R’ specification cars share the same Team Durango DNA, performance and innovation, but with a more ‘regular’ specification that is normal or even ‘team-spec’ for most other cars on the market.
Team Durango ‘R’ means performance and innovation, combined with affordability and an accessible, personal upgrade path. Our ‘R’ cars will be available for all Team Durango models as a step-in point for Team Durango ownership, but the no-compromise ‘Team Durango’ premium version will typically arrive first for hard-core Team Durango fans.
Our philosophy is to develop the ‘Team Durango’ ultimate race car first, using handmade test cars and then, later, see where costs can shaved for the “R” version.
At Team Durango we test our theories with hand-made cars, like the DEX210 2wd being raced at the Yatabe Arena in Japan this weekend. Once the theories have been proven with prototypes, we refine the design, make it production ready, do more testing, and finally we launch the best car we can. Only later will it get the ‘R’ treatment.

Other companies design, sell, see what breaks, sell options; then sell a ‘team spec’ car – Team Durango won’t take this approach.

The first Team Durango ‘R’ car will be the DEX410’R’ which is also going through final testing.
Street prices for the DEX410R will be US$350, €230 and Ģ210
(these process all exclude local sales taxes/VAT)
Expected availability – End of April 2010 – full spec and photos available next week

poopers 05-03-2010 04:20 PM

I would say that I don't care if it's got ball diffs as long as it's fast, but I'm loving the gear diffs in the full fat 410, so would prefer those.

till 05-03-2010 11:11 PM

i havenīt seen the car, but this is my preorder !!!

Can anyone who knows say if its got same chassis layout at the normal one? Still saddles?

Hulk 06-03-2010 01:19 PM

I would imagine its gonna be exactly the same layout but with parts that are less expensive to make, but then again ive not seen the car so could be wrong.

You will just have to wait and see ;)

It's just a lot of the lower spec racing buggys switch to sticks, which would be good for me

HyperFX 07-03-2010 06:32 AM

I can't imagine any Rang being a lower spec kit.

IF that really is the R version, it looks awesome with little real evidence of compromise. Good job TD

its geared diffs. just take away the expensive cnc'd alli and replace it with plastic and your in. plus why would you spend all the money developing a ball diff and put it in a budget car. you would use parts you already have. you cant cheaply re-engineer the diffs. its not like making a mould for plastic parts. thats relatively easy by comparison.

Same thing I belive as well, plus I see it as a backwards step to put ball diffs in it, after all it's seen as a main point of the normal car.

/tobys 09-03-2010 02:22 PM

can't wait for more info and official pics/spec :D

toppers3933 09-03-2010 02:42 PM

wasnt a guess. was told by a dealer this morning. from the discription i was given this morning, by someone who has seen one, those pics are defo the 410r. if you look carefully all the parts that would normally be alli are plastic, except the chassis which will stay as alli.
