Anybody thinking of going? Ben |
|
Just checked this out:
Its the weekend after the RHR national. (Fri to Sun inclusive) From thurs to monday: £68 return with sleazyjet but thats leaving at 6.40am :bored: Austrian airlines might be better, leaving at 9.25am but its £150 |
Oh, and have bowties been discontinued? So its just holeshots that can be used?
|
james have u looked at prices for a hotel or B+B
|
Yes, it seems to be a flat rate throughout the year at the g-k-hotel.at - 48euro for a single and 30 more for a double/twin..

In fact is there a good single source of info on everything to make sure I don't do anything dumb around rules? Or will it be in the Efra handbook when it arrives (things like random rule differences compared to BRCA, or are any further bits homologated or anything) |
What e-mail?
I've to take a flight to barcelona on monday morning from copenhagen so it looks like it will have to be fun qualifying rounds for me |
Otto,
Dave refers to an e-mail from British Team manager in relation to confirming what tyres can be used etc..... Nothing has been 100% confirmed as yet |

Just had a look on the Warmup webste regarding Holeshot tyres - these tyres by the looks of it are the NEW Holeshots, as they have different part numbers to the holeshots I have at home. Im guessing that these could well be the official control tyre part numbers? Does anyone know if the compound is any different from the old ones, or just the part numbers?
|
I'm thinking of doing the warm up but nothing certain yet.
Will all depend on finances... |
Si
the compounds are the same the tyre is differant we are now using the at PDA. I have some in stock. Tread is differant as is the construction. Phill T |

Would like to know what's going on too. This is what I have heared so far: Proline doesn't make bowtie anymore. But they would have agreed to make a batch for the euro's, which you can buy from the local shop trackside. Imo, that's plain stupid. The bowties are quite crappy anyway, and now we will use them as a control tyre even when they are not in production anymore. In theory people are not able to practise with them, as they are only available at the track when the euro's start (not many shops in belgium stock other offroad tyres than the ones used in our national series). Looks to me like the austrian local shop still has loads of bowties from the 2006 euros which it wants to get rid of :-) All this can be easily solved by just using holeshot as the 2wd control tyre too. Makes life a lot easier, and for some a lot cheaper. For example I do 4wd only since I'm there anyway, but I mainly focus on 2WD. If 2wd and 4wd have the same tyres, this saves me lots of money on tyres as I can use the slightly worn ones from 2WD. If we have to run bowtie in 2wd I can simply toss them in the bin afwterwards, useless tyre. Last euro's in finland, wasn't that also holeshot for 2wd and 4wd? I hope many of you share my opinion of using holeshot for both classes, and can get the discussion going so we can get some decent info regarding this issue. bye! |
Goodmorning all...
Does anyone have any idea how the warm up will take place? This is my first event in Euro and I have no idea of what the schedule fro the 3 day event would be...I quess it will be something like: friday practise, saturday 2wd qual and finals and sunday just 4wd...am I right? I talked to the guy that imports Proline to Greece and he said that there should be no problem getting some bowties...the price would be much better too! With all the new Proline tires coming out for the 1/10 it is stupid to use the bowties although I used a couple of times last year in the Greek championship with good results...but in my B44! |
I will be there as well:thumbsup:

I dont understand why proline didnt announce this before..? They must have known that bow-tie is going out of production a while, and therefor could informed Rmc-wien and efra about it before they decided to set bow-tie as control tire in 2wd. But we Norwegians dont care that much, since bow-tie is used in some national races here :P |
So who's going from the UK?
Paul Bradby Lee Martin Simon Moss James Helliwell Ben Jemison Nathan Ralls Jimmy oOple anyone else? |
Jimmy
So, is there any photo of this track? the info site shows the old track from 2006 which isn't the one being used - so what's the deal? How do you pay for the entry? Do you get confirmation at some point? |

24 hours of pain on a coach from the UK to Austria and then to be greeted by the state of the track in 1999. I almost cried, in fact I think some people did. It was one of the most 'random' tracks I've ever driven in my life.
If it's the same track then popping over for a practice will definitely be a good idea. |
I saw some photos of the 2006 track looking really destroyed a while back - is that why we're not going back there? it was a really cool track.
|
I heard from someone who told someone that there isnt really a track there and it needs to be built for the warmup?
Does Hupo live nearby, maybe someone can ask him? |
