Winter Warmer Series 2009/10 RD 6 - Sunday 07 March - EPR

The 'OFFICIAL' thread, hopefully free from hijacking and personal banter:confused:

As the title says, the sixth and final round of the 2009/10 Winter Warmer Series 2009/10. As per usual the series will cater for both 2WD and 4WD 1:10 electric off-road buggies as well as Stadium and Short Course trucks!

As this thread infers, to be held at Eden Park Raceway off-road facility(check out details here: http://www.edenparkraceway.com/dates.htm) on Sunday 07 March 2010.

Track WILL NOT open until approx. 08:30 for practice so please DO NOT arrive too early! The track has near neighbours which we do not want upset by excessive early noise, thank you!

NB - Following the cancellation of Round 2, due to adverse weather, the EPR Committe have decided to adopt the recognised principals of amending the rounds to count for Championship positions.
All Championships will now be decided on the basis of 3 from 5 to count.

See you all there, watch out for further announcements, especially regarding any impacts (parking etc.) due to weather!

EPR Committee

I work with computers hence the high keyboard and iphone usage (ironically controlling internet usage... ;) ) Maybe I need a consultancy role again

Reminds me I must book another holiday which doesn't have an internet connection! With that I'll stay off Oople tonight..

Cheers Grant and see you Sunday :)

Beanie 02-03-2010 09:55 PM

What time roughly will the day begin, rounds finish, finals begin/finish, etc.?

Just wondering whether I can whip down for an hour or two to watch!

Thanks to David Church and Trish for the info and friendly welcome last Saturday! Very impressed with the track. Is it possible to go to the track to practice at all, is there free access, etc.?

brookie 02-03-2010 10:32 PM

Partially answered in the opening post, track will open for practice at 08:30 for approximately one hour with a view to Drivers Briefing at 09:45, qualifying to start immediately after.

Difficult to say when qualifying will end, will depend largely on how many attend but would expect it to be around 14:00.
Finals ordinarily start approx. 30 mins after qualifying has finished.

Ordinarily at Winter Warmer series meetings we run 7 mins. finals, we may have to reduce this if the attendance is high and the daylight is fading, we will make this decision on the day.

Practice (and advice) is available to those that attend the regular work party's on Saturday, these are announced on here when they take place, look out for the announcement about this coming Saturday's plans.
Unlimited access to the track is part of the membership package, the complete details of which are available here:

http://www.edenparkraceway.com/about.htm

We do offer practice facilities to non-members for a fee (as detailed on the website) but would strongly recommend taking up club membership if you want to practice on a regular basis!

Did someone say RAFFLE???

Ok ladies and gentleman, I will be on your case this Sunday, so come prepared:thumbsup:

mikeyscott 03-03-2010 08:30 AM

Really looking forward to it now :)

Can those that attend Saturday maintenance day give us an idea of what the track conditions will be like ;)

I'd love to practice etc EPR, but it's a 4 hour round trip :(

Also looking forward to seeing how EPR runs as a meeting and with the computer equipment so I can take ideas back to our club :)

brookie 03-03-2010 11:49 AM

Track looked really good in yesterdays sun and was dry in most parts following Sunday's deluge:(

Still looking good for the weekend (prefer this to BBC's version:woot:):

Blow the dust of the yellows boys and girls:thumbsup: oh and the hat and tranny muff:(

mikeyscott 03-03-2010 11:56 AM

Greens in the morning and yellows in the afternoon then maybe..

I've forgotten what yellow mini spikes look like!

What way round will you be running the track?

pb1 03-03-2010 12:10 PM

Steve b and matt b

I have to work on Sunday on nights so can not make it but if I can get jon there would some help him.??????
I think the miss will bring him

brookie 03-03-2010 03:10 PM

Paul,
Sure we can find space for him, we have spare tables and chairs if you don't want to lug too much stuff for him.

Mike,
There's no way we can predict tyre selection this far away:confused:
It's often difficult enough on the day never mind several days in advance!
Just another of EPR's little challenges that you find out about at the weekend:thumbsup:
Track will probably be run anti-clockwise (we ran clockwise last time) but will not be ultimately decide until the work party on Saturday.

pb1 03-03-2010 03:22 PM

Thanks Steve I will tell him after school I will pack a box with every thing he needs.

Guys I will be there with Trishbits at hand!!

Come see me as I have a fresh batch of B4 and X6 front braces avalible!! Also Wheely holders for your wheel holding needs!! come see me on the day!!

Cheers

Trish

mikeyscott 05-03-2010 10:09 PM

Awesome. Will check with a mate whether he needs anything for his X6. Also what are the cost of the tyre management things?

brookie 06-03-2010 09:00 PM

HIJACKED!!!
Back to thread.....

Returned from the track, it's all set and ready to go, thanks for the help from those that came to the track today, much appreciated! Track looked good and was, for once, largely dry in ALL parts:thumbsup:

Both the track and the surrounding playing fields are still damp in parts, so we have been asked by our landlords groundstaff to please respect the ground and drive considerately when moving onto the areas adjacent to the track.

Also it is CRITICAL tomorrow, Sunday 07 March, that we only have a SINGLE line of parked cars along side the track as football pitches adjacent to our pitting area will be in use during the morning, double parked cars will be asked to move! There's plenty of space further down the field if needs be!

Also due to some changes within the management and organisation of the sites Management team please be patient if arrangements and facilities are somewhat different to what we have been used to recently! We are working with our landlords to get back to where we need to be!

Thanks and see many of you tomorrow.
EPR Committee.

mikeyscott 06-03-2010 09:03 PM

Many thanks for the update and look forward to meeting people tomorrow.

mw02veg 06-03-2010 10:06 PM

Not long now Mike and you will able to get your mits on the new car.

David Church 07-03-2010 07:41 PM

Well what a day!!!! My Schumacher Cat Sx was sweeeeeeeeeeeet!!! A massive thanks to Trishbits for all your help!!! The car was awesome:thumbsup:

A massive thanks to all involved in the running of todays meeting, thanks to all the drivers that turned up, 84 entries I was told:thumbsup:

And of course thanks for all your generosity buying raffle tickets!!!! We raised some £275-ish, I didn't count it, but it's a welcome boost with many expenses coming up for the EPR club before the National!!!

mw02veg 07-03-2010 08:11 PM

I must second that Dc, a great run meeting, big thanks to all. Dry, sunshine and nearly warm what more could we ask for.

Mikey Scott had an away day ticket, hope you enjoyed the racing.

Big thanks also to the Guru the one and only Trish, he is the man of the moment, never seen Dc’s car go as well, couldn’t believe it was Dc driving must have been touched by the Guru, an F2 awaits you Dc.

Thanks mate, shame I choked in the final!!!! I was hoping to race with the boys at the front, but I didn't get it done!!!!

It was good to see Mikey today, I know he learned ALOT and felt part of the team!!!!

I should have said earlier how good the New Schumacher Cougar looked!!!!
TQ'ed the meeting!!!! And a bit of bad luck prevented the win!!! The car looked amazing today guys:thumbsup:

MHeadling 07-03-2010 08:17 PM

Thanks to all the Epr crew, Tom, Steve, Matt etc, was a great days racing!

2wd didn't go plan in the finals but the truck final was the stuff of legends! Closest race iv been in for a while, 2nd place to Matt Benfield, I was well happy!

Unlucky Steve on breaking at the end. So who has won the truck championship??

I have taken a few pics today that I'll post up soon.

Good result for Ellis, must have been the tranny muff!!

Lee's Tamiya looked ace, well done today!

Yup just want to second this and say thanks to the Schumacher team and Williams family. Cat SX felt much better

See you hopefully on the 11th if it's confirmed!

Cougar looked awesome and glad I have one on order. However I feel a Cat SX focus returning after the help today.

tymill 07-03-2010 08:48 PM

Awesome day racing - thanks to all!

Cheers,
Ty

tyreman 07-03-2010 09:01 PM

Just got home after a 3.5 hour drive, was a good meeting as usual, But a shame so much time was wasted waiting for people and marshalls. The computer should have been set to auto and left to run with the amount of entries today, and peneltys for late/non marshalling as a few of these early on would stop the problem, as we could probably have been finished by 1600 rather than 1715.

Moan over.

DaSloth 07-03-2010 09:20 PM

Another awesome day, hopefully it will be a bit warmer next time :) Thanks to all the guys at EPR.

last time ill be going home through London, saved some petrol but it took two and a half hours :x

Andy71 07-03-2010 09:35 PM

Thanks to all the crew - Steve, Tom etc. certainly was a good day.

Felt like a 10 degree difference between the pitting area and the rostrum though. How about the raffle money going towards integrated rostrum heaters

Lastly, many thanks to Mike Williams for keeping me going on the spares front.

tymill 07-03-2010 09:45 PM

Cold was deffo the order of the day...

'least it was dry...

brr!
