Am I counting chickens ?

Nice to see visitors at the Goshen on Sundays practising, It looks like we shall have a few new faces for our outdoor meetings.
I counted six cars there this afternoon, a couple of them looked very capable.
All we need is nice weather and we should get off to a flying start.
Roll on April the 4th.

budfish 28-02-2010 04:27 PM

Chickens

I went down to goshen a couple of weeks ago and there was about 5/6 people down there all wanting to race this up coming season. I can't wait untill we return to goshen. Roger are we arranging a date for a bit of a work party and general tidy up? I know a lot of us would turn out for it so just name a time and date and we will be there:thumbsup:

regards

dave

paulc 28-02-2010 04:53 PM

is april 4th is that the first outdoor meeting ?

Si Coe 28-02-2010 04:53 PM

Are we racing Chickens this year? Could be different.......

shanks 28-02-2010 04:54 PM

Yep im there too for the work party as and when..

Was chatting to tyson and Budfish and the idea of advertising for the club came up

May be worth a thought with a view to attracting some new members from the localality...

Would be nice of we could end up with 20 or 30 regulars that wanted to race every other weekend or so during summer

Crack open the barbecues eh :thumbsup::thumbsup:

kitesurfer73 28-02-2010 05:53 PM

FORGET TEAM AMERCIA TEAM GOSHEN 2010....

just say when you want us down for clean up opertion and ill be there...

looks like there will be more people than last year 20+ cant be bad am looking forward to the outside season...there is a great range of ability's that will make the racing interesting an hopefully more 2wd for me to get beat by lol thats if i still have one then....;);)

Si Coe 28-02-2010 06:52 PM

Are there any public events on in Bury over the summer we could hold a meeting at for publicity?
I did the Woodvale race with Southport last year, when I raced a Macc a few years back we used to do the carnival, and even further back in Essex we used to race at the Essex show. Always a good event, and we'd had out loads of flyers etc.

mattb 28-02-2010 07:21 PM

track tidying

ill be there to help clean up the track to when the date is set:thumbsup:

johnnygibbon 28-02-2010 08:00 PM

paint it black

im ready got paint to. lets have it. race on:thumbsup:

T4miy4 Guy 28-02-2010 08:43 PM

Can`t wait for the outdoors too start myself

This advertising the club does seem to be a good idea maybe have a word with little Chris or someone to get some flyers to put up.

Andy

shanks 28-02-2010 09:01 PM

Yep little chris is the artwork fella it seems

The shells he has done for tyson are very nice

Definately be getting him to do my next one.

Not really sure where if anywhere advertising would be effective?

Just thinking on i suppose it may be worth sticking an e-bay add up?

Surely in the vicinity there are more like us with rc cars...

Flyer's would deinatley have to contain jonny's idea of a "ring of fire jump"

In fact a proper action shot like that should become Bury's siganture picture i reckon....

:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Chrislong 28-02-2010 09:17 PM

WHo's bringing Short Course trucks to race? I will do if there are enough, although I would race 2wds if not enough.... aslong as it is bone dry - open chassis and non-waterproof expensive parts don't mix with wetness.

johnnygibbon 28-02-2010 11:26 PM

short course

i am 4wd all the way this year. looking forward to loads of short course truck racing on goshen this year. ring of fire is in the desighn stages. could be great

Simon

Publc events could be an idea

things like the bury show and the like - maybe an idea to attend them with a display track to drum up some interest

I've got a masters in chemistry and am a qualified science teacher but I'll still be weeding!
Partly as its safer than letting me near powertools, and partly as I'll probably concoct some highly inadvisable home made weed killer in my lab rather than pull them out manually.

I'll be there next weekend!

Instant killer does not mean explosives.
