Primrose Valley RC

I have been sent some information about a meeting at Primrose Valley RC Model Week.
They have kindly asked me to hand out some of their flyers to help promote their race.
So I thought I would use this fine forum as well.
Here is a link
http://www.primrosevalleyrcmodelweek.co.uk/index.html
It looks like it would be a fun meeting to attend, have a look and tell me what you think:thumbsup:
Cheers all

Primrose Valley Model Week 8-15 May 2010

Hi people hope you dont mind me getting in on the act, I and my family have been going to this Model Week for about 20 years now its the one week of the year we really look foward to, it has changed over the years and it is mainly a car week now although there are places to fly your leccy planes and helis.Over the last couple of years we have had an excellent offroad track and next to that is an onroad layout we cater for Electric, IC, and Petrol Sizes from 1/18th to 1/5th in fact we will run anything that people want to bring.
There is usually some heats each day and Finals on the Friday, this means if you want to have some days off to holiday and look round you can or you could race every day like me. If anyone want info contact me or follow the link on this page. Regards Ashley

This will be my 3rd year in attendance at Primrose Valley we have already got 5 static caravans bookes as we booked these on departure last year;

The whole atmosphere of the entire week is fantastic the people who run the show BARRY,JOHN & COLIN make you feel so welcome,take all abilitys of driving on board,so relaxed and race when you want and what class you have got to run;These guys are always there if you need a hand with anything,help,advise you you never on your own.

It is based on a model week but you do not have to be trackside when racing is going on you and the family can take everything at a leisurely pace and do what you want to do;

This will be my 3rd year and i love it along with the rest of the ESBRC crew this is a fantastic time for me to have a nice break before the manic season of the nitro x cross begins and the whole event is just fantastic;

There is so much to do on site you do not need to use a car from the time you arrive until you depart on several occassions last year we had full days out and the buses run like clockwork and very regular from the site.We caught a bus and spent the day out in Scarbourough and then caught the last bus back to site as this is 1 thing i would never dream of at home as it is just a day to day thing to use the car;

The whole event is a very enjoyable the people who attend this model week all make you feel very welcome and you make loads of new friends in a very short space of time

I would highly recommend this and what more can the dads ask for a bit of racing and take the family on a holiday at the same time one way of keeping all the family happy

I get the impression that if you want to race you have to book a caravan (or pitch for your own)?

b44_will 02-03-2010 08:36 PM

I'll be there this year, didnt go last year :(

Who me Craig?????
I know I can be empty, but I write loads of crap in my post's:D

Northy 02-03-2010 08:46 PM

Do you have to actually be staying on site to race then? Looks like no spaces left for our pikey van :cry:

G

Body Paint 02-03-2010 08:52 PM

Still can't see your post DC :confused:

Northy: There never used to be security to stop you getting on site, but depends if the organisers let you race, never used to be a problem.

PM RcAshers, he has been going for decades and can probably get hold of the organisers.

Northy 02-03-2010 08:55 PM

Still no security, we went for a week away there earlier this year. But the Mrs was actually up for the week away I think :woot:

Oh, and I'd not be able to get there until Sunday night at the earliest unless I miss RHR nat! :blush:

I would have thought your Pikey van wouldn't worry about spaces or security:p

RCAshers 02-03-2010 10:50 PM

Hi Guys and girls If you have a towing caravan you can book a site with Haven Holidays, or you can book a static van with Haven, or you can book a private static with someone on the site this is what I do, if anyone is interested I will give you some names. I meet Craig there when he was a nice little boy (no sorry he was a brat hehe) Regards Ashley

Northy 02-03-2010 10:59 PM

All towing van places booked for that week :cry:

dodgydiy 02-03-2010 11:19 PM

No, but I have photos to prove it :blush: There was apparently a flump fight shortly before I passed out and also so belt whipping :o:D

RCAshers 03-03-2010 02:01 PM

We used to have one of the halls in the main centre for the mini stox and oval stuff but because of the centre being refurbished and I think lack of numbers over the last few years Haven won't open a hall for use now (H&S) issues. We still run the oval stuff outdoors on the onroad track we make up a square type oval and people run foam tyres or rubber on the micros. If you wanted to bring a tourer van there are lots of site in the area and you could still come and race. Ashley

crtpromachine 03-03-2010 05:05 PM

You could always try the other site which is not far away from Primrose Valley ; Blue Dolphin Holiday Park which is also owned by Haven and accepts tourers.Unfortunally i cannot guarantee that they will have any touring pitches avaialbe but worth a try;

Crtpromachine

Northy 03-03-2010 05:10 PM

Yeah, I looked at there too, so I could still just turn up and race? Also, how about not been able to be there on the Saturday and Sunday, is that a problem?:confused:

I can find mention of an entry form, but no link to one. What classes will be raced?

G

RCAshers 03-03-2010 05:34 PM

Hi Northy You can come and race any days you want the charge is £25.00 for the hole week or you can pay £6.00 per day and race when you want. The main classes are 2WD 4WD and Trucks 1/10th Electric. 1/8th IC Rallycross Truggies. Weve had quite a few 1/12 IC Truggies lately they are great fun. Onroad 1/10th Leccy and IC, Mini Stox-Micros. Infact they will race anything you want to bring. Give it a go. Regards Ashley

Body Paint 03-03-2010 10:14 PM

Very tempted to book a van. Private vans are around £170 - £220 for the week, does that sound about right Ash??

RCAshers 03-03-2010 10:37 PM

Yes Craig the guy we use. Luxury Caravan Hire @ Primrose Valley. Self Catering Haven Holidays Park Top range van £200.00. The racing is much better than it used to be we now have both onroad and offroad tracks on the cliff top by reception large area good tarmac. well worth a visit. Regards Ash

Body Paint 03-03-2010 11:30 PM

Cheers Ash, I'll give em a call and see what they've got :thumbsup:

Body Paint 04-03-2010 10:05 PM

RCAshers 08-03-2010 08:02 AM

ash do they still run mini's ?.

Vinster 12-03-2010 08:42 AM

I last attended this event 20 plus years ago. Do they still have on road 1/12th pan car racing.?????
If so would consider doing it again.

Also do they have the wargamers. Think this was run by a guy called Lawrie from Tyneside.

RCAshers 12-03-2010 10:23 AM

Hi Vinster no the 1/12 died when we lost the use of the indoor track (this was because of H&S) also the 1/12 has been overtaken by 1/10 TC. Also it is now a Model Car Week as a lot of the other people went to other sites as it was feared Haven were going to stop the week, but we have had on trouble with Haven in fact we have better use of the site than ever. No wargaming.

RCAshers 12-03-2010 10:29 AM

Sorry Dave did not see your post till now yes they still run mini's we make an oval on the onroad track outdoors people run on foams the tarmac is pretty flat and is swept. do you only run mini's or other cars as well. Regards Ashley

dave-p 12-03-2010 12:25 PM

i will bring the tamiya mini and a 1/10 buggy, i also have a 1/10 truck if you run em, dave.

Chrislong 12-03-2010 01:04 PM

I may make a short holiday out of this for me and Claire, would prob turn up mid-week and then home on Sunday - 4-5nights.

What is attendance like? I'll be thrashing the 8th around.

RCAshers 12-03-2010 01:12 PM

Hi Chris sounds like a good plan theres usually 2-3 heats of 1/8th plus Truggies and 1/12th Truggies these have been quite popular. Hope this helps. Regards Ashley

Chrislong 12-03-2010 01:39 PM

Yep thats great news, I'll see if I can pursuade many others to join me :thumbsup:

HKP 17-03-2010 11:50 AM

Tom

Chrislong 19-03-2010 03:31 PM

Ok, so I have now booked a caravan from 12th to 15th May. Now id like to book in, but the book-in form isn't there. I can see where it is meant to be but there is no living link to it, anyone got a working link? Or can share an email address so I can do it?..... otherwise I'll just turn up with my stuff! :D
