indoor 8th track

ok so just out of intrest.. so say there was a permanent indoor 8th track.. big jumps all made right.. concret sections... stone paving sections.. but... it was astro or carpet.. would people be intrested in midweek and weekend racing at this venue???

BRS 25-02-2010 01:20 PM

Yes but no doubt it'd be down south

Chris Doughty 25-02-2010 01:21 PM

Yes! distance depending

Beanie 25-02-2010 01:51 PM

Definitely, for me as a family guy (in more ways than one!!!) then a 'pass' for an evening's racing during the week is way easier to achieve than a full day at the weekend away from the family?

Jimmy Whitehall 25-02-2010 02:10 PM

Sounds good to me.

Kifogrande 25-02-2010 02:14 PM

If it was properly sized then yes, sounds awesome! Too small, then NO!:p

GRIFF55 25-02-2010 02:34 PM

i'd come for a nosey every once in a while;)

Teddy truman 25-02-2010 02:54 PM

would be proper 8th scale size track! and could run 10ths aswell..

Kifogrande 25-02-2010 02:55 PM

When can we move in?

Teddy truman 25-02-2010 03:36 PM

just need to know there is intrest.. then can look at it all..

savageracer1 25-02-2010 04:53 PM

Depending how far away it is, then yes!, only weekends for me though :thumbsup:

I'd come to play sounds good but again depends on size/how far it is to travel.......

Mean when we did the EMMA other year that was good enough for 1/8th indoor even if some ppl didnt like it.

But bigger would be so much better & setup for carpet or Astro would be even better.

druid 25-02-2010 05:17 PM

8th scale

I would definately be interested in attending.

I know of at least one other guy who would be a regular.

Cheers Drew

Dozey83 25-02-2010 05:28 PM

sounds awsome!

i personally think that astro would work better than carpet, but id be very interested either way! :)

bring it on! :)

Chrislong 25-02-2010 05:50 PM

If its Bicester, its a fair trek for me. But id travel for it if there was a descent sized meeting going on especially if I could do it without using holidays from work. If there was an annual lengthy USA style event id enter that too depending on holiday availability at work. A track like you mention the country needs, shame I am not local to support it regular if it was to happen.

DaveG28 25-02-2010 05:51 PM

Great idea, I'd be intereted, especially winter weekends! Guessing it'll be too far south for midweeking myself though!

James 25-02-2010 06:16 PM

I think the answer to this question is going to be yes from everyone..?

Its the details that'll make peoples mind up, got any further info? Where will it be and what are the dimensions of the building, has it got open sides or ventilation and lighting?

They tried this at newark showground, did you go to it? I think Lee did.

Apart from that, uhm yes

eb4_boy 25-02-2010 06:46 PM

Get it done T Man! lol

PTRU 25-02-2010 07:01 PM

In answer to some of the questions.

It would be large.
It would have lighting.
It would have good ventilation
Keeping it warm may be a problem in winter.

still looking to see what interest there is

not just for 1/8th but 1/10th as well.

over to you Tony

barnyard 25-02-2010 07:14 PM

Yes at least it shouldn't get cancelled because of the variable British weather.

Weekdays might be an issue so I'll have to get creative with the planner at work but I'd travel at weekends especially in winter if racing was guaranteed.

wanos 25-02-2010 07:45 PM

Now that could be good news, sounds excellent, as some of the others said, its what we need here in the UK.

Myself and quite a few others from Essex would travel to that !!!

Wayne.

I would think it would be popular, the mid south is hardly overloaded with tracks from what I know. Something near Aylesbury would be good :D

dave g 26-02-2010 10:06 AM

leeds would be much better haha

GRIFF55 26-02-2010 11:10 AM

carrot 27-02-2010 10:57 PM

definately up for it,run a once a month sunday winter series, the place would be packed.

arvi 27-02-2010 11:29 PM

A make shift track at Taplow ( near Slough ) proved popular among the locals. Type in Taplow RC in youtube to have a peep or click on link

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eqBeATePnOE

If the track was permanent and catered for 1/8 and 1/10 and both Nitro and electric is sure to be popular and I think its a much needed thing given the weather we have during winter months ( and summers can be quite wet as well )

chickentikka25 25-03-2010 11:36 AM

There's gotta be a joke about not being allowed to smoke indoors in there somewhere
