MP9

Hi everyone,
with the 8th season almost here, thought I would start a thread where we could answer any of your questions ;)
cheers Simon

Chris Doughty 24-02-2010 08:43 PM

what's the best way to do a backflip? :woot:

Just joking Si, it feels like I've not been out racing for ages and just fancied a bit of banter...

to turn this into a more sensible post, are you at Frankley this weekend? what setup would you start with on your MP9
(no im not asking for myself, just felt the need to ask a proper question)

Good luck for 2010!

Kifogrande 25-02-2010 02:01 AM

Lee Martin 25-02-2010 08:13 AM

Si...

Is it true you like the taste of donkey sperm and tend to use this as shock oil on cold days?

Chrislong 25-02-2010 12:05 PM

With concaved pistons and diagonally drilled holes...

Lee Martin 25-02-2010 02:48 PM

Chris Doughty 26-02-2010 10:02 AM

See you on Sunday then Si! almost a year since I was last at Frankley...

Chrislong 09-03-2010 03:49 PM

I need to know spring colour/rates chart.

using Blue front and Green rear (medium length rear shocks). Seem good. But I have no clue what the kit springs were, and I could do with knowing how they compare to what others I have.

infact, i also need a piston guide. Not sure what the kit ones are.

Butch, do you have a stoke setup?

butch 09-03-2010 09:49 PM

hi chris not done much at stoke, when u racing there?

Chrislong 10-03-2010 07:56 AM

Last Sunday

But I'll be there again through the Summer, and its similar to NNRC - so a setup for Stoke will suite NNRC too.

I beat you Chris :p

Your car did look very good though on the track just shame your engine let you down for the final.

Will see you on the 28th Stoke, you going to try the roll bar route out?

Dont think i be doing Deerdale this weekend now, Mothers day the Mrs wasnt to pleased :woot:

Chrislong 10-03-2010 10:31 AM

Well I have two obstacles for this Sunday - Claire loves the F1 (and all last year just watched highlights after racing, and doesn't want to do that again - as she accidentally heard results beforehand more than once), plus its mothers day and we're invited on a family gathering (which would be dinner time but we've delayed it for the F1).

My MP9 was very good, it isn't far off to be honest, im made up with how good it is. Just need to keep it flatter through the bends, and race more often - as I need to gain confidence/experience with 8th, im still relatively new. Loving it though. The car is capable of going far quicker than im driving it, which is good, but thats where the practice comes in!

We got some great guys with MP9, looking forward to pitting with you some more Rob. Plus Nick will soon be going, he's going to love it, I know he is very impressed with the build of the Mp9 . The car deserves to be far more popular than it is, especially the lesser 'racing' version I am using - awesome value for money (don't be fooled, it is no lesser spec than a top spec of other brands!).

Im going to run-in the Plus4C engine this Saturday somewhere - atleast get the heat cycling done anyway. The NN21 will live again though. I can't get over how good that engine has been!

carlin 10-03-2010 01:01 PM

Yeah i forgot that to about the F1 so will be watching this too

Yeah the MP9 is brilliant car finding it quicker & better everytime i try new things on setup. Shame not getting anytime with my pal for full day of pratice try few new changes on the car. We mainly do it on the days racing & he will try something i do the something else compare setups.

Chris didnt say you was running with full steering i had to turn mine down to about 60% car was so much better.
I could push alot harder into corners & exit was so much quicker it felt.

I will be there on the 28th March, Craig J will be there who you met & also Colin R who runs MP9 too.

Yeah Nick dropped me email yesterday, think he got the bug wants to get up running.

rich_cree 10-03-2010 01:04 PM

What you all need is a nice extra lightweight chassis! ;)

Hope that helps you out a bit, I believe you can run the long springs in the rear using the medium setup; and it results in a slightly softer rate in comparison. I've not had chance to try this out personally though.

Fingers crossed I should be pitting with Rob at Stoke on the 28th, and I've got a most of the above springs; you're more than welcome to try some out, just give me a nudge.

Colin

Chrislong 10-03-2010 01:26 PM

Thats brilliant, cheers Colin! I'll print that out and acetate it to my pitbox . it will be good to meet more MP9 drivers . 28th march? okay I think im being pursuaded, its an NNRC meeting too that day ya'see, I'll see if Mahoonaburger and Brennan fancy it too.

Cree, I know Rob is using the lightweight chassis. Share some details and photos mate, im interested. I didn't know about it before Rob mentioned it. Are you doing any other MP9 stuff?

Go on... tell us more?

rich_cree 10-03-2010 01:59 PM

If anyone wants a chassis doing then just email me and I'll sort it out. Basically i'll take your std MP9 chassis and mill pockets in it to lighten it out and add a bit of flex (all for a very reasonable fee....)

Click on the logo below for more details and email me if you want to know more!

ryanlownie 10-03-2010 02:49 PM
