Schumacher dealer in CT, USA.

I'm happy to announce that Radio Control Hobbies & Raceway in Waterbury, Connecticut, USA will be a Schumacher Dealer.

Local Schumacher team driver Raul Garcia will also be available for help and support.

Very cool! Pricing on Cougar yet?

ApexSpeed 01-03-2010 03:52 PM

I have seen the kit version listed at a few online places in the US for $319 and the assembled car for $349. I would guess most are settling right around there for now.

Pricey, but they don't look like you need ANYTHING but your local tire choice to be ready to go.

It will be competitive, and local. We have our pricelist already, just waiting on comfirmation of backorder status, where are you located?

PsycoChris 15-03-2010 02:16 AM

Bugggie! I found you Raul!

Raul Garcia 15-03-2010 02:18 AM

8rad 15-03-2010 12:44 PM

I am in Ottawa Canada. I am looking at the S1 version also.

Raul Garcia 15-03-2010 01:08 PM

The price difference between the two would not justify having two kits to stock. We are going to stock the k111 kit with all the parts. We can always get you a s1 if you prefer.

Jaune 15-03-2010 01:29 PM

The 2 kits (S1 and CF) are about £80 different, that's quite a bit to my pocket here in the UK... aint £80 about $800 Canadian :P ... just kidding :)

Anyway...my play is to get an S1 (CAT SxII actually, already pre-ordered) and start club racing with her and then upgrade to the CF parts as I go if I need too..one part every few weeks.

Only stocking the more expensive kit does not sound like the best idea in this troubled economic times. But..what do I know :)

As long as you can order in then all is good..I'm an very happy that the US will see these cars as they look awesome.

Jaune 15-03-2010 11:23 PM

Hey Moth898 Whats up!!! I was your neighbor at the Poly Championship (at least for a day:D. )

Jaune 15-03-2010 11:25 PM

8rad, Good stuff! Have you been there this year?

moth898 16-03-2010 12:11 AM

I'm planning to go to dirttrax some time this week, I would have been there a couple of weeks ago but didn't know the name of the track...then I saw this thead. I actually made it through to the qualifiers last week without any major breaks:thumbsup: Are you, and your friends, coming to polycarpe this weekend?

t.o. rob 16-03-2010 01:02 AM

Bon jour Jaune,

Don't feel so bad, my Schumacher was the first Cat at the track last year! Now, there are 4 or so, and counting. The Cat just needed a little exposure and support. Now everyone asks me so many questions about the car and always wants to try it out for a few laps. This summer I will be making my way up to Ottawa to train with your local legend, Jean-Yves Theriault, and I would like to hit some of the tracks in the Ottawa. I will also be going to the Montreal area and go to moth898's local track. I am going to make a long weekend out of it.

Thats cool. If we can help with setups let me know. We have the SX on the track now, also we are big into vintage stuff too. Procat, Bosscat, Cat2000, Cougar 2000, and Storm 2000 are our cutoff vintage rides. I have owned all of them at one time or another, sometimes a few at a time.

As for the cost of the two kits for what you get, the big bores alone are going to be cost difference, then the carbon and Ti are free. The price of the K111 kit is going to be just above the cost of a Kyosho RB5SP, give or take 30-35.00 USD. Juane, if you need a kit let us know. We can always ship it to you.:)

BTW, I asked about Dirttrax, because I used to race for chassis manufacture from Ottawa, his company name was Dirttrix, Paul was his name. Do you know him?

Jaune 16-03-2010 02:04 AM

Moth898 I won't go at st-poly this weekend, we have an off-road race saturday and on-road on sunday!!! But We should go back soon for sure!

t.o. rob good stuff, Off-road electric is getting better and better over here. It will be worth the drive! I just got a B44 in a deal so I'm giving it a try while i'm out of parts for the cat. But Its not the end, the schuei is so nice... I'm actually looking at getting a Mi4 if parts availability is good enough!

Hi Raul, Yeah I remember racing onroad with the Tardiffs (DIRTTRIX) when I started racing, they were making a lot of nice stuff for the on-road car. Our faster guy was racing Dirttrix mission at that time!

I might skip polycarpe and come to dirttrax also, I'm in the mood to change environments.

moth898 16-03-2010 02:27 AM

were can we see a price list Raul?

Jaune 16-03-2010 02:33 AM

Raul, We havent seen them around for the past 3 years :( I don't think they race anymore.

Moth, Have a look at www.rcottawa.com in the indoor off-road section for more info about dirttrax. It would be good to have you around! :D

Now to be back on topic, I'm glad you guys will carry and support schumacher's product in the US! Hopefully it will be easy to deal with you from Canada!

8rad 16-03-2010 12:17 PM

No, I havent been yet. Still need some stuff to hit the track. I was originally planning to start at Paydirt this summer. With a new house, a new car and my son in daycare my RC budget is $0. I may come out on a practice day to check it out and meet the guys but until I can scrape up a ESC/BL, Lipo charger and pit table I will just be watching.

moth898 16-03-2010 06:37 PM

I hear ya...this hobby has gotten crazy expensive in the past 12 years since I last bought anything. You need at least $1500 in cars, motors, batteries and other equipment just to start. At least there is more support for racing via internet sites like this one.
