Teesside 2wd & 4wd Regional

So, regional this weekend. Hopefully will be sun all around as weathers been nice up here. Any guesses on the winners with people doing well at the national this weekend, will anyone be up for it.

super__dan 12-06-2007 07:11 AM

What’s the surface like this weekend? I realise it’s grass but what kind, dense and grippy (Batley like) or sparse and slippy(NERCR 2wd like?

For the guys that ran the nationals this weekend, any chance of a gentleman’s agreement not to run new tyres at any point???

Predictions, usual suspects, Bulk, Rich, Tom, Ben if he holds it together for a whole 2 qualifiers AND a final (optimistic).

Dan

Lee 12-06-2007 07:19 AM

Im just hoping to make the A again, i think Mr Lowe will take 4wd as the BJ4 is like a guided missile at the moment, 2wd is a lot more even, ill go for Craig Collinson.

Richard Lowe 12-06-2007 07:27 AM

Don't discount that Greenwood chap in 2wd, he's been quick recently ;)

I'm running my tires from Bury, I'm sure Ben will go through 3 sets each day as usual :D

LEGEND 12-06-2007 07:31 AM

From what i remember, I think it may be a bit like batley but i am a bit unsure, I may go and have a look tonight to get an idea. As for results i think Richard Lowe or Criag collinson for 4wd and for 2wd it would either be Dan Greenwood or Tom Cockeril.

super__dan 12-06-2007 07:59 AM

Lee, are you the chap I talked too about jumping at Batley indoor meeting?

chrispattinson 12-06-2007 08:36 AM

I'll go for Richard Lowe in 4WD, just ahead of Craig C and Snee. Dan Greenwood in 2WD, just ahead of Rich and Craig. (no pressure guys).

I'll be aiming to sneak into my second A final of the season, in Reading like 9th or 10th position.

super__dan 12-06-2007 08:44 AM

Holy smokes, I'm not right keen on all this pressure, I prefer the Rocky Balboa approach!

Yeah Dan thats me, that was my first off road meeting in a decade:D, the BJ 4 is awesome now, and i have had 2 A`s so far in the series so very happy with it, i just need to work on the 2wd now

super__dan 12-06-2007 12:55 PM

VERY good skills ace are you fully converted or do you still race the shite touring cars occasionally?

super__dan 12-06-2007 12:58 PM

telboy 12-06-2007 04:56 PM

yeah, cos we're not having much luck with the weather this year. Out of the 7 meetings I've done this year theres only been 3 dry ones!:(

I think last year I only raced one wet race (on road).

...discounting wrexham when it Hailed!

I think you lot were at the kiddy national the same weekend by the looks of bathys vid.:)

LiamD 12-06-2007 05:01 PM

Is it 2wd one day and 4wd the other?

I might pop down on Saturday if there's racing, as i'm at GTi International on Sunday.

tc2k 12-06-2007 08:05 PM

2wd saturday, 4wd sunday

like Batley or it was last time we raced there some 5 or 6 years back now

but without the rain we've missed over the last few months to keep it lush it'll be thin on top like my dome :D by the EOR 3 on the corners

venue address for those that haven't read all the Teesside threads is

Weather report much better, good news on the grass, looking forward to it.

Lee 14-06-2007 07:59 AM

I know people are saying the grass is like batleys, but what is batleys grass like for those who have never been there.

cheers

elvo 14-06-2007 08:06 AM

Grass is to the British what snow is to the Eskimo's. They have 100 kinds too...

Keep those ariels pointing downwards :D

tc2k 14-06-2007 12:23 PM

Typical, not going to risk blowing a brand new speedo to race in the rain despite being only a mile away. Is it okay If I race on the sunday in 4wd with my 2wd if I bring it up to weight?

super__dan 14-06-2007 12:26 PM

Yes, normally.

G - Got Kirkies wedding do Friday night so going up till Sat morning.

Bizarrely Vermin is going up Friday afternoon just to put his tent up so we can pit in it sat, then he's coming up sat night to stay over and race sunday.

You still on the wagon?

emzy 14-06-2007 12:36 PM

I've just un-entered myself for the weekend but I'm not sure if its too late... so if anyone hears my name being screamed to book in - let them know I'm not coming please?

Thanks. :)

Northy 14-06-2007 12:56 PM

Why?

G

emzy 14-06-2007 01:00 PM

Were you why-ing at me or Dan?

If it was me - I have a French exam tomorrow, a Spanish exam on Monday and a French exam next Thursday... so racing's been banned for now I'm afraid. :(

Bit gutted too - can't do enough 4wd to count.

chrispattinson 14-06-2007 01:05 PM

I knew I should have made that bet based on seasons overall standings, rather than just one meeting.

bigred5765 14-06-2007 01:13 PM

dan just type in the first 4 number of the postcode to get the right weather zone for the track
eg ts18

http://www.metcheck.com/V40/UK/FREE/...p?zipcode=ts18

tc2k 14-06-2007 01:30 PM

Still pants weather. Never remembered a year being this wet, its june and we've had some sun but only in one or two day spurts.

emzy 14-06-2007 01:33 PM

I haven't even been sunburnt properly yet. What's the crack?

tc2k 14-06-2007 01:40 PM

All you can hope for is that the weather predictions are wrong like usual :D

Col 14-06-2007 04:33 PM

I have never heard such moaning in my life! Put some greens on, get out there and thrash the pants off it! All respectable speedo's are weather proof these days so there is no problem. Bloody fair weather racers - at bury they race outdoors all year....

Maybe so but having to wait 6 weeks or so for a replacement under life time warranty isn't good :( if you only have 1 speedo as will be the case for more than a few racers around the country not just at this event. I'm lucky to have a few esc's but I'd still think twice these days about racing in the rain.

Maybe run the event indoors @ TRCC if it's to inclement but the roof does leak a little :)

12th's on @ Chesterfield this weekend ;)

jimmy 14-06-2007 04:45 PM

I think out of the 8 ESC's I have at home, not a single one is waterproof:(
