Lookin' good!
|
seen these used at the brca winter championship a guy from scotland was running them and they looked really good:)
|
I am personally friends with the guy and the attention to detail he has is amazing. He has got me a little Tamiya hooked as well;).
|
Thank you Lee for that nice review.:)
I missed a part in the "Who are alaste"?. Didīnt we agree that I was an ugly bastard, Tamiya nerd and had too much spare time, ha ha... |
Yeh we agreed that, but felt it was a little harsh! ;p
|
Saw the cover today in the flesh and it looks awesome!!! lovely finish on it too. When can we get them and from where please Frederik?
oh, how much too:thumbsup: |
Lee has added that info on trfracing.co.uk

I will have the new short front and short rear diff cover in stock on tuesday.
They cost 25 euros each. |
Quite a few to ship now. Got a big bag with covers today. Been "bubble wrapping" all night, ha ha.
I check each part before packing them, so it takes some time. I expect to have shipped all orders before friday. UK customers who choose express mail: Royal Mail seem to have difficulties delivering mail. Sent one express mail last friday, still not arrived. Package left sweden on saturday morning... Their web tracking service doesīnt work with foreign post(!) so I think you have to contact them in order to track your packages. Not sure if express mail is worth the extra cost. Registered post seems to be just as fast, approx 5 days. Donīt know why... |
Hi Fredrik,
Will you be sending the tracking numbers? |
Is shipping available to North America??
|
Yes, I will send you the tracking nr.

|
Mine arrived today, cheers!!
|
mine too!! what a well made part, recommend to anybody:thumbsup:
|
Just fitted mine, fits nice, a bit fiddly to get in place, but I'm impressed!
Tamiya should have done this in the first place! |
Iīm glad you liked it.
Iīve got a simple manual on the way. Trick is to tilt the bottom part a bit forward when you fit it into the bulkhead. If you do, you donīt have to remove the front brace. Then put the belt into the bottom part. Next thing is to insert the "T-shaped" part and then attach top deck. When top deck is in place, the "T" is also secured. As you may have seen, the "T" has a very precise fit in the top deck. Then you fit the diff/belt. This part is almost the most difficult part because the belt tensioners on the diff have to be correctly rotated. Otherwise it feels very tight. Finally attach the cover and the upp bulkhead/shock mount. Btw, how do you think it looks? Not to bad? |
Yes, I figured the top deck has to come off, or be loosened. Fits fine though after a bit of fiddling.
I like the look of it, I'm always worried about 3d printed items being a little fragile, but that item is only for dirt protection, so that method of manufacture is perfectly good enough. |
Yes, top deck must come of in order to fit the bottom part.
But on the other hand you never have to remove that part. To remove the diff you only have to remove upper bulkhead/shock tower (of course) and lift the top part. The front/bottom part is ~3 mm thick, should be strong enough. |

Today I was received Fredric's diff covers! They fits nice! Thank you Fredrik!
I do one modification for quickly diff removing: file the front and rear top decks for free placing T -shaped part :) |
Thanks F1!
But you donīt have to remove the T-shaped part in order to remove the diff. So there is no need to modify the top decks. The top deck is supposed to secure the T-shaped part. |
When I did not removed the t-shape parts, I can remove the diff, because the belt is string taut and did not give me remove the diff)) T-shape dont came off because the upper parts holds them :)
|
Do you have wires that affects the belts tension when removing the diff? If thats the case, just remove some material from the lower part of the "T". Will reduce the belt tension.
Must be a bit tricky to fit the T-shaped part after you have fitted the belt and diff? |
