Oswestry National 14th/15th July

I know Bury is still going on, but i wanted to start the thread before i went away for the week. You are welcome to view the Oswestry website at

http://www.oswestryrcc.org.uk/

and see our dedicated National information page at

http://www.oswestryrcc.org.uk/National2007.htm

The club is really looking forward to hosting it's second National and we hope the weather will be as good (+32°C) as last year to make it a real Ozfest!

is it going to be the case where we need to bring our 4.5's and 3.5's with us?

Southwell 12-06-2007 01:11 PM

Please no, shorter straight this year please, ill kill my motors every run if i have to run an 8 to keep up with brushless. O and a more forgiving jump :P
Do i have to register with Jeff that i want to camp or is this only for caravans, it's not too clear on the site....

ashleyb4 12-06-2007 01:19 PM

The track is being design as you speak and we have learnt from our mistakes dont worry the track this year will be much better. That is all im are going to say ;)

millzy 12-06-2007 01:22 PM

Only Caravans need to be registered. Tents do not. This is a condition of the contract we have with the show ground owners. I will amend the website when i get back..

emzy 12-06-2007 07:21 PM

Is it sunny over there? :(

Chrislong 12-06-2007 07:23 PM

I still registered a week or two ago, even though its just my tent sleeping two occupants. it wasn't clear but id rather register unneceserily than not register when i should, so for the sake an email I did it... but nevermind.

Looking forward to it. I presume we'll be on the exact same section of grass as last year?

ashleyb4 12-06-2007 07:35 PM

Yup up on the bank chris just like last year. It had the first cut a week last thursday.

I'm no 'hug a tree' environmentalist... but... air con in the street!!! silly.

Back on topic... looking forward to Oz, can we have a bar, or at least a place to cool beers? Lots of ice in buckets please is my request ;)

millzy 13-06-2007 09:01 AM

we had a ice at Bury, ASDA down the road had bags of them, kept the whiskey cool in the night and the redbull cool in the day

neiloliver 14-06-2007 06:31 PM

Website updated (just got home at 6pm.. it was 1am UK time when i got up this morning so im wrecked)..

It was +40°C in the day, but very dry heat. Not like Hong Kong which is very humid. Went on a 4x4 Desert Safari.. 12 Toyota Landcruisers in convoy.. awesome!.. but it was a business trip so dont tell anyone... Shhhh...

Yeah he was, are you gonna fight him?

neiloliver 01-07-2007 08:02 PM

Less than two weeks to go now....

We are finalising the details of the track features and evening activities... will post soon... :)

all i can say is that you should not need to bring your own beers and you had better get your brains in gear...

thats me knackered :D

PaulRotheram 01-07-2007 08:46 PM

how's the track holding up to this crazy weather?

neiloliver 01-07-2007 08:51 PM

The permanent track is a bit of a boating lake, but the bank for the national is fine, we have had it fenced off now for some time and have been mowing it for the past 6 weeks.

IceMike 01-07-2007 08:55 PM

You never need to worry about Oswestry. its a well known wet track, but always raceable.

Gemma 01-07-2007 09:05 PM

Will there be any entertainment this year?

IceMike 01-07-2007 09:07 PM

Is that what you want?

Gemma 01-07-2007 09:08 PM

Erm.........if its on then yeah.

Just asking the question! Was there anything planned?

IceMike 01-07-2007 09:09 PM

 Our website will be updated shortly with all of the details dont worry.

Gemma 01-07-2007 09:16 PM

Okay thank you!!! :)

neiloliver 02-07-2007 05:38 AM

Its not that we are keeping you in the dark, we are just awaiting confirmation on something.

No chance! The sunshine has been booked for that weekend.

neiloliver 06-07-2007 04:32 PM

Who is going to enter a team in the Quiz? Only Phil Channon and I know the questions/answers so there will be at least one Oswestry team made up of other club members.
