Looking good there Mark! wheres the DB-01?
I`ll get some sorted of mine:thumbsup: Andy |
Here is my 501, I am planning to re-wire it and tidy it up some more as it was a rush to get it done for last nights racing, and the funny sch full spikes are what work at Faversham Club!
Its got a one way fitted and ali steering rack, tamiya front and rear alloy hubs and Edit rear wing. I have a nice new 511 shell thats going to Blitz for painting. http://i783.photobucket.com/albums/y...g/rctrf001.jpg |
|
Other side with Aerial mount made up, not sure if that will stay?
On a side note, I know it has different batt straps on it! I was playing about with using weighted B44 straps and the STD carbon ones. I need one carbon strap if any one can help?? http://i783.photobucket.com/albums/y...g/rctrf002.jpg |

Well if it was i`d be winning :woot: Mark the way this is done is take 2 x 3Racing front towers (3mm thick)scuff up two sides using abrasive paper and bonded them together with glue in a vice, let them set together then superglued the edges and use fine grade wet and dry paper to shine up the edges it can take awhile depends on the finish you want. Andy (Thanks to little chris for showing me this ) |

Andy, That shock tower you showed me was beutifully finished. Might have to go round and re do mine :).

Now this is the tread I'd been hoping for! Since I plan to paint a new body soon, I'd been wanting to see pics of finished cars for ideas.
My 501x... http://i142.photobucket.com/albums/r...g?t=1265946520 http://i142.photobucket.com/albums/r...g?t=1265946604 Bodies: Two beaters, one brand new 501x, and one custom painted with underbelly and matching wheels. I have a 511 body coming that I plan to use, so I'd actually like to sell the new 501x and custom painted set (with wheels), so if anyone is interested, PM me. The custom painted body set has never been run, and the pinstriping is chrome. It's a pretty nice looking deal, I'm just not into green. http://i142.photobucket.com/albums/r...g?t=1265946692 http://i142.photobucket.com/albums/r...g?t=1265946742 |
Some pics of my 501X, it was raced last Friday at a lovely indoor clay track (702 Raceway) here in Las Vegas... Needs a cleaning huh..

My 511 - planning to take some pics of the inside sometime... Also planning to make the extra-thick front damper stay, as I broke two of them at Worksop. I wasn't too kind to the car that Sunday! |

http://i224.photobucket.com/albums/d...ife/501x-4.jpg http://i224.photobucket.com/albums/d...ife/501x-1.jpg My 501x Worlds Edition, that piece of foam(outa a novak box) I shoo gooed to the body is to allow air to pass through the body to cool the motor. Due to the fact I'm running a Tekin R1 pro speed control and 362 brushless motor, it gets barley warm after a heat race. Stock gearing. I re-built the rear diff so it's butter smooth again. Front one way. I added an aluminum steering bridge/new front shock tower to the car recently(not pictured), looks like I'll have a bit more steering this next big race next weekend. |

Sure does, makes my car look ugly.....

Damn, that pic above makes me want one of their tourers again, such nice bits of kit!
Got a shell at Kifogrande's at the mo, will post mine when I can! Really do like how neat Donuts looks!! |
Hey folks.
I paint my own shells and also do a few for the local drivers in Scotland. If anyone has a specific design and wants it painted, send me a pm. I'll do a no-obligation quote and can also provide any matching accessories, such as perspex pit boards, etc. |
|
Great shot of the 501 there Craig ! hope your planning to take her off the shelf and bring her to Goshen sometime in the near future mate.
Andy ;) |
If Max can race then I can race most weeks ;)

Nice Dave! why the belt roller and shocks on the rear? you prefer them like that?
|
Belt roller is just a precaution really, these days (the 511 belts are tougher than the 501 ones were) the belts last a fair while, but I still find the rear goes before the front. The roller is just an attempt at evening up the life between the front/rear (It's off a tr415 I think!?)
Shocks on the rear are just something I'm trying to move some weight rearwards as I run so little ballast, plus I just find it much easier working on the shocks when they are back there! One other bonus while running on flat indoor tracks, running them at the back lowers the car due to the antisquat, its super low touring style like this;) |
+1 for shocks on the rear, I find the car much more stable due to moving the weight rearwards, without shortening wheelbase.
