"Wichita Lineman" is my favourite, it is a popular song written by Jimmy Webb in 1968, first recorded by Glen Campbell and widely covered since. Campbell's version, which appeared on his 1968 album Wichita Lineman, reached #3 on the US charts, remaining in the Top 100 for 15 weeks. In 2004, Rolling Stone magazine's list of the "500 Greatest Songs of All Time" ranked "Wichita Lineman" at #192. It has been referred to as 'the first existential country song'.

"Wichita Lineman" has been recorded by a diverse range of artists; from Ray Charles, Sammy Davis, Jr. and Dwight Yoakam to Kool and the Gang and Urge Overkill.

Allthough I do like "Boom, boom, boom" by the Outhear Brothers also.

;) ;)

My favourite song is Train - Drops of Jupiter. I'm a soft git. :D

Songs i'm liking at the moment are Klaxons - It's Not Over Yet, Chemical Brothers - Do It Again, Armand Van Helden - NYC Beat, Pendulum - Bloodsugar.

Best Prodigy songs? Stuck between - Voodoo People and Spitfire.

neiloliver 01-06-2007 04:19 PM

...are we this short of things to talk about?

my vote goes to "No easy way out" from Rocky IV. This song will be the background music to the Ozwestry National Video (which i hope Jimmy will also let me put on here along side Bathy's Sepia "arty" one :)
