Smacks of Chinese rip off of Japanese IP to me..

RogerM 04-02-2010 03:05 PM

Jamie and Co. will get them on every model shops shelf in the country and they'll sell a fair few of them I'm sure.

Go on CD, run one at the nats that don't clash with the smokers events ;)

jim76 04-02-2010 03:08 PM

sadly i think Mr D could get one of these in the A final at a Nat in kit form!! Or maybe with a beefed up motor!

Go on Chris, got to be worth a go!

Chris Doughty 04-02-2010 03:36 PM

Id like to see more of it, should look pretty ace with some LiPo's and some brushless stuff in it

bondy 04-02-2010 04:13 PM

New Car

steel diff gears steel pinion and crown gear aka durango! tunrbuckles, roll bars, cvds, bearings, bigbore alloy shocks with adjusters , motor radio servo battery speedo pre painted shell " looks like they nicked my scheme on the white one ?? DOH " and if the price is what I have been told.

OH MY GOD !! :o

All we can do is wait and see ! Jamie says it looks and feels better in person than it looks in the photos.

jim76 04-02-2010 04:44 PM

if the car is pretty robust then it should prove a pretty good club car or regional car. The original lazer was and still can be a very competitive car.

Manix 05-02-2010 04:09 PM

OK so what have people been told abou the price?

bondy 05-02-2010 04:15 PM

Wait

Wait and SEE !!!! Look at the picture !! ITS HOT !

carty 05-02-2010 04:53 PM

oh dear LRP, more like RIP what are they becoming with all this rebaged cheapo stuff going on

bondy 05-02-2010 04:57 PM

Hmmmm

Tell us which car it is then ??????????

Considering LRP designed it themselves that might be hard to answer ???????? Just because it looks like a Z5 ????

carty 05-02-2010 05:07 PM

just take a look at that and half of the other non branded chinese stuff out there, pretty close, im sure with some searching you could find it, considering lrp was once a leader in rc not anymore.
was looking at there nitro buggy recently, again one of there ground breaking designs, then low and behold i find it on the mrc advert in rc car action or somthing like that under the ZD racing banner once again a far east manufacturer, i know they have to compete in fierce market place but Lrp always stood for quality not so sure anymore, the new 1/10 buggy looks no better than a carson or ansmann, i hope im wrong as lrp was my first equipment i used and this is just a blip and not the beginning of a downward trend

bondy 05-02-2010 08:44 PM

hmm

Would have to agree on the nitro !! SH are the manufactur and the cars are distrubuted by LRP for europe and Z Car for the USA !

I was hopefully rightly told that the Blast was designed and tooled by lrp Its just manufactured where 99% of everything in the world is " China"

Not biased Honest !!!

Price

From REDRC.NET

"The new S10 Blast BX is a 150 euro 1/10th scale 4wd electric powered buggy"

thats 150 euro probably £150 ish If its tough and last well thats a bargin for any beginer. Redrc say 2.4ghz but I dont think that is correct .

RCModZ 06-02-2010 09:08 AM

The RTR Version in the Images above should retail in the UK for £154.99, I think you will find that spec hard to beat at that price!

greasy mark 06-02-2010 09:15 AM

allready got mine on order cant wait for the pro version

offroadrc 06-02-2010 08:22 PM

it looks like a toy. xd

greasy mark 06-02-2010 10:08 PM

budgio 06-02-2010 10:17 PM

LRP have not 'lowered' their quality, the same winning products are still winning, their speedo's motors and lipo's are still some of the best available.

they are branching out into other product ranges and doing some entry level stuff too, but their top level competition gear is still top level.

LRP 8th scale car is the same car as the Z-car but called LRP for european distribution, initially it was Z-cars creation but LRP now have active development with this car.

its not a blip at all, look at the new touch screen pulsar charger, octa-wind x12 motors, stock spec speedo, all new top-level gear.

ainsbury8 15-02-2010 06:33 PM

lrp blast

For Sure...

jamiebooth 18-02-2010 09:34 AM

Thanks for the positive comments, remember this is not aimed at racing, but entry level bashers. The fact that some of you consider it good enough for racing is a real compliment. (i think it looks good enough to race too)

The RRP is £154.99 but i suspect that shops will sell them around the £134.99 mark, considering this is full RTR with Radio, speedo, motor, batteries and charger etc, its a bargain.

Forgot to say, they should be with us first week in March!

But the guy in the video said it was for racing :eh?:

Im interested in one, geared diffs are a cool feature for me, as those that know me, know I need a strong car! :D Is the radio 2.4Ghz as there's no aerial in any pics

Edit, will there be any hop-ups available? Like spring sets etc? To give more adjustability for racing

Chris Doughty 23-02-2010 04:24 PM

some more info released on the LRP site

http://www.lrp.cc/en/products/new-pr...y-rtr/details/

I'm sure it would be pretty good for entry level racing, its certainly not going to be a worlds contender though, well at least its not aimed at that level or racer.

the exploded diagram looks really good!

I would imagine a range of accessories would follow but don't hold me to that.

RCModZ 02-03-2010 11:45 AM

The S10 Blast BX will be in stock today @ Spire Model Distribution LTD ;)

Please do tell ???? ;)

Got It

Finally got mine to try

Ill be honest its No durango and it has not been made to be. Its meant to be a good introduction to racing. And in that sense it is way beyond its remit

There is alloy where there needs to be, no fiddly eclips. Whishbones pins long screw and bolt type. Totaly secure ! everything looks purposefull and will do the job.

I junked the standard radio gear of course. But looking at the one that comes with the kit I am amazed at the settings you can adjust ??? EPA adjustments throttle hi points etc WOW !!!. Im sure the speedo and battery and motor will make it zip nicely.

I threw in my LRP speedo and for now 8.5 X12 and one of my Lipo's. I changed the pinion but as soon as i started the car it made horrible noises. Im not sure but i think the pinion and spur are the old .6 module type. A little thicker and more robust than a .48dp. We shall find out. It might be an easy swap to another manufacturer. I put the kit pinion back on and the car was now smoother and quieter. Its a little noisy compared to a ball diff car its about the same as a durango. It did get smoother and quieter near the end of the pack.

Handling is really good for an out of the box RTR ill go out on a limb and say its not far off my durango but we will have to wait and see . The big shockers really smooth it out. It I had to tighten the slipper 1/2 a turn and after it shoots off like a errrr Durango ! I just love geared diffs
braking was excellent and as time went on it became smoother.
It was dry outside on the road and dusty so I couldnt really judge the turn in but I never struggled around my usuall lap around the lamposts!! HEHEH

I felt like a kid again for 20 mins before the speedo told me the battery was ready.

Nothing fell off or came loose and the kit tyres are awsome. Some to try at all tracks especially Robin Hood !!!! going to do a strip down tommorow and changed some oils.. Roll on Sunday !!!! the 410 is ready in the wings but im not worried about blooming drive shafts anymore HEHE  And unlike me when racing I gave it some right stick everywhere !!!!

I saw these in PBM today and have to say that for the money they are very surprising. Cant wait to see one run at a race meeting. May well be some expensive buggy owners made to look ordinary. Hopefully not me tho. lol.

telboy 04-03-2010 11:21 PM

I may hand mine to my bro for the last worksop meeting. :)
He can be the stig for the day.
