Schumacher Cougar SV photos and info
Schumacher said they wanted to keep the Cougar SV for the upcoming Nuremberg Toyfair - but someone got impatient and released a couple of teaser shots to whet the appitite!
http://www.oople.com/rc/photos/misc/news/sv01.jpg The new mid-motor 2WD Cougar SV will come with the new PTFE coated 13mm 'big bore' dampers which have been tested on the CAT SX over recent months. The car can use stick or saddle-type lipo batteries. A 'reversed' motor position and multi-gear gearbox help put the power down. We're also told the car features industry standard wheel fitment - though the front wheel fitment isn't clear yet. The car also features what Schumacher are calling a 'constant radius steering system'. The bodyshell looks like a throwback to the older cougars but features a built-in gear cover for the new mid-motor layout. A huge rear wing is nice change from the weedy CAT SX one and an undertray helps seal things up from the elements. |

if the front wheels are B4 fitment then we should finally see some wheels that schumacher front tires fit on without bead trimming :woot:
|
Sweet!!! When can I get 1?????
|
Ok now im defo changing my 2wd!!
|
Schumacher
Car looks very inpressive and should be awesome - even better with an all orange body shell - what do you think Jonesy
|
Does anyone know any prices for this at all?
Ive heard that there will be 4 versions of the Cougar, but dont quote me on that (who am I, eh :D) |
I reckon it'll be north of £250
I assume there will be the S1 and full Phil Booth style editions again. |

i will defo be having one...
|
Don't think the front wheels will fit the B4 as Shumacher use metric ball bearings.
|
Looks like you will have to buy CF links for the camber positions... Like the CAT SX
|
x6
Am keeping my x6:thumbsup: till the hype calm's down, then take a look maybe...

Sweet! I'd only wish they'd drop that purple anodizing! It reminds me too much of old Serpent fuel track cars and Mega engines...
And it's kinda gay... :p |

I feel like the micro forum has influenced this new Cougar in some way  lol |
Arr right so what you’re saying Schumacher have used imperial BBs. That’s not like Schumacher.....
I would put money on it but you still owe me £35 !!!!!! Quote:

im saying nothing but double or quits

when I first saw that front bulkhead, I thought this was going to be a 4WD with 2wd buggy levels of front end kickup. seriously, that bulkhead is gigantic! you could just about fit a small differential in there.
that being said, this thing looks properly awesome and if they'd just drop the purple ano in favor of a nice crimson/blood red, it would look absolutely sinister |
Just out of interest...why do 2WD buggies have so much castor in comparison to 4WD buggies?
|

with a 2WD the weight it much further back so transfering the weight forward into the corner is normally a good thing. just a little interweb engineer theory of mine (to do with kick-up not caster - Id assume that extreme caster is a by-product of this) |
Your a clever sod Doughty :)
Thanks for the reply :) |

Any other thoughts ??
1/10th this year ? |
I'm actually really impressed with the looks of this, I'd say Schumacher have pulled a blinder here.
interested to see where things have ended up inside |
Doughty for A Team position 4, I say
|
tempted to write Schumacher in my signature line for a laugh :woot:

It's a lovely looking car alright. Those front arms give it a really unique look - a bit like the prototype Kyosho RB5 that they ran at the Worlds 2005.
My first guess would have been that the angle allowed the front shocks to sit lower but it's hard to tell if that's the case anyway. I guess the front bulkhead is so big maybe to contain the steering? or just to make the shock tower a lot smaller / less prone to damage? |
I'd love to know what software they use to design it and wheather they use any HPC kit for simulations etc.

Looks to me like b4 style wheels, so imperial bearing I. The wheels, but most certainly metric everywhere else. |
