Excellent Day.

Just want to thank the Bury lot for an excellent day, Stu and Rog for running it and the usual suspects for designing and setting up yet another stunner of a track. Very rewarding when you get the full lap done smoothly.

I also had a great day even though it's not reflected in the result I got. A big thanks to roger stu and all the bury lads a great atmosphere up our end glad to see ry and the nnrc boys pitting at the right side of the track.

Regards buds

I had a great days racing today, thanks to all involved. Think the track was the best one we have had this winter. Roll on the next one

kitesurfer73 24-01-2010 08:58 PM

top draw bury......

Really good day enjoyed the track was fast and smooth like my driving lol:thumbsup:

Like andy said enjoyed the 1/8th dice:thumbsup:

Big thankyou to rog and woody great club day out and couldn't have done it without the bury posse nice one lads good crack today...Man i so need a better steering servo!!!!!!!!

Jonesy 24-01-2010 09:31 PM

Great day from my point of view as well, winning 4wd and 3rd in 2wd

I did think the track was fairly easy with only 9 corners BUT....... it catered for ALL abilities so overall it worked out nicely. It's not often you get 18 laps on an indoor track!! Plus, the majority of the corners stayed in place :D

It was another example of a great venue being booked out! It's a shame there were some no shows though.

I'll get the series points updated when Rog puts the results on line

PS: Thanks to Stu and Rog for letting me run the Micro around the track before the finals!! That car was quick!!

phil c 24-01-2010 09:35 PM

an exellent day as always from the bury boys , well done guys :D

It was very good for us medium ability drivers - very race-able. I didn't have enough skill to hit the downslope on the big jump every lap, longer down-ramp would have been better for me, but overall I loved the layout.

Definately agree with you there. I'd have defo raced both/either classes if I'd have thought there was a chance of a space.

'No showing' is just rude and timewasting for the organisers. It's about time clubs/organisers either stopped a no show'r from racing at the next meeting or atleast charge them double!!

johnnygibbon 24-01-2010 11:15 PM

lovely

what a good do. sorry i couldnt stay to pack up, but defo be there for setup next time. 4wd is ace. power power power
(even got a soft spot for 8th scale today to ) fierce:woot:

DaveG28 25-01-2010 12:09 AM

Again thanks to all for a top day, win in 8th and 3rd in 4wd far better than I expected too! The 511 was awesome again today and not gonna sell my 8th now I've reminded myself how much fun they are!!

Agree with Sleigh about noshows, I turned up for one class and got in 4wd due to no-shows, but other people above me on the reserve list weren't there to take a spot as they quite rightly didn't want to travel not knowing if they'd race. It's just common courtesy for people booked in with a spot in a full meeting to cancel if they aren't going, other people missed out racing because of them today:(

Thought it was a good racing track today as well, good mix of quick and slow stuff and nice and wide too!

birdy 25-01-2010 07:37 AM

What a top day, loads of good comments about the track maybe the way to move forward and build on that track design to suite all driver abilitys.

Thanks to all the bury lads at the top end for a good laugh through the day.

Shame my 8th scale motor went, would have given daveg and the rest of the 8th lads a run for there money.

pugboy 25-01-2010 10:49 AM

Really enjoyed the track and racing today, the meetings seem to get better and better (shame my jumping doesn't!), and the earlier start meant we were all finished at a reasonable time.

Thanks to all involved.

like johnny says am really lovin the leccy 1/8th just think in my hands, one ov them would be deadly!!!!!!
Might in the furture invest in one just waiting for the price to go down alot, thought the racing was so close that due the the three lads stevo, ewan and the dude with the losi made it look easy...good quick aggressive driving and best of all they just dont break ike 1/10th do.....
Dont get me wrong am not going over to the darkside yet, just looks top:D fun..ewan was buzzing with that car:thumbsup:

Cheers Tim, You got me out of a jam, I had sent e-mails out saying reserves had places but cocked up by not booking them into the race computer. Result. And places for reserves.

MRD 25-01-2010 06:38 PM

I had a good day and I think that was the best Bury track I've raced at so far. It really suited my driving style and was very rewarding when done neatly.

Loved the track, though the fact the people had accused us on Saturday of making a touring car track was rather embarrassingly proved true on Sunday. I didn't mind the Subaru shelled TC going round before racing, but the guy running the 18th scale TC between the heats and the finals showed just how un-extreme the track was!

lol the fact that the track was doable(is that a real word lol) with a tc might have suggested it was a little tame, i have to say it was very enjoyable and flowed well though, matty enjoyed racing on it,well done to all involved:thumbsup:

Bury this weekend

One thing that is evident, is that Bury is a great track and ok there might be a couple of improvements or issues but one thing is that the top 10 were the same top 10 as previous tracks so completely worthy.

Welldone all involved and thought the track was quick and rewarding.

Think Bury should be considered to host some big events in coming years

Cheers

The problem, as I'm sure Roger would happily say, is one of time. The school charges the club rather a lot per hour for the sports hall, and the security staff are very keen for us to leave at the end of the day. Over-runs like the first meeting are a big problem.
I doubt the school would be that keen on a more major event. And since that amazing surface is part of the appeal using a different location would rather defeat the purpose.

But again saying that Si, a big BRCA event which comes hand in hand with the BRCAs help and good funding may help in discussions with the school

Saying that, it is up to the club to apply for such events and I'm sure if there is something available and all parties are happy then discussions may take place. Until then lets enjoy the Winter Series we have because it's awesome!!

njc11 25-01-2010 08:33 PM

I can assure all, that the people i deal with regards to this venue are extremely accommodating

If we were to host a big event I cannot see it being an issue! If we are prepared as a club to pay for the venue for the length of time required.. it wont be a probs guys  and i would say if it was for a 2 day event then im sure a deal could be struck.. on a 2 day event we would be allowed in after the schol has finished on the friday i guess which would give us plenty of time to get set up :)

The only people who have the hall on a regular basis is the gymnastics club who are in every saturday till 2/2.30pm..

As Andy has said though if its a BRCA sanctioned meet it is run by them using all there equipment..
