£490 - thats a bit cheaper than I was expecting

AmiSMB 19-01-2010 09:32 AM

Have a semi just looking at that :D and the price is good at £417+£72.98VAT in my opinion.

GRIFF55 19-01-2010 09:39 AM

i like the look of that!

HarlowS 19-01-2010 10:02 AM

Wonder if an electric conversion or layout will be due too

samd 19-01-2010 10:18 AM

Not really. It just shows that the expense is not in the actual raw materials - which is often the case with small volume goods ;)

Your right northy, but you put them next to each other, with price tags on, the 410 looks expensive;)

reg 19-01-2010 11:49 AM

its just pure lovelyness,i stopped racing 1/8th a few years ago due to no tracks, but this would be really nice to build and just sit on the shelf:thumbsup:........cant wait for the proper pics of the 2wd coz im sure it will be all blinged up:woot:

jimmiprice 19-01-2010 12:17 PM

Anyone got any inside news on a release date yet ??
It does look the bollox........

jaans 19-01-2010 12:49 PM

I wish they would bring the hard anodised shock towers as an option part to DEX410 too.. as my carbon fibre front shock tower already broke once.

jimmy 19-01-2010 01:06 PM

That must have been some hit to break one of those carbon towers! I would put money on your bending an alloy one if you managed to break the carbon - but if not, at least the whole gearbox top would have ripped off. When a DEX410 crashed into my DEX410 - it broke my gearbox top off, the tower it hit was fine.

footey 19-01-2010 01:11 PM

sorry jimmy:cry:

jimmy 19-01-2010 01:12 PM

 Reminds me, I still owe Adam some new ones back!

jaans 19-01-2010 01:57 PM

I have only run my dex410 about 10 times, and sure, have had some hits, but nothing that would bend alloy I think..

Still, yesterday, I didn't even crash, but after landing a long jump the shock tower just broke from the left side (near the spot where shock is mounted into the tower, leaving the shock hanging loose with a piece of the tower).

I guess it was already broken because of some earlier hit, and just came off after the jump. Hopefully the replacement lasts longer, but I have to say I would feel a lot safer if the towers were made of alloy :)

But the DEX410 is £386.96ex VAT and the DEX408 is £417ex VAT which is reasonable in my book.

Want!

I am very excited about this buggy, love all the new features. It's really nice to see a new buggy with genuine innovations on it (Flex Control for example) plus they have used some competitors ideas which I think are all great (direct pinion/driveshaft connection & Tamiya style brake linkage).

The best bit, the price. Well done to Durango on getting something so high quality on the market at such a competitive price. I wouldn't have been surprised to see this well into the £650+ range.

Another promising thing about it is how they used Losi 8IGHT suspension components on prototype cars, hopefully they have managed to "capture" the drive style of the Losi and better it with their own designs and innovations, that'll truly make this an amazing buggy on the track.

Seeing the current CNC centre diff mount it does not look too hard to get a electric motor mount made for it.

It is quite possible he was running a non durango car and didnt want to have it in the picture. im sure there would be more info somewhere if he was running a durango prototype or atleast someone would have taken some pics.

I like it....

AmiSMB 28-03-2010 10:08 PM

Ah we finally get to see how big the air filter is. That is very elliptical to fit under the low shell.

Hey guys, I e-mailed Team Durango to quiz them about the release date for the DNX408. Here's what I got back;

"At the moment we are still in the final stages of testing the DNX408.

Unfortunately this means we do not have a release date at the moment.

I would estimate that the kit will not be available for at least 2 months, it may be a little longer depending on how the final testing goes.

We’re sorry for the long wait, we hope you can understand that we strive for perfection in our products and this is taking a little time."

:bored:

Aran 24-06-2010 05:27 PM

think i need a change of pants!

they did say on their site an electric version might be made if theres enough interest in 2011 :)
