News?!

Hi there, just spent a lot of time reading all I could find about the Durango – Aero matter, forums, statements etc... Since I am really interested in this car, I want to know if there is any news related to this matter.

Have anybody talked to Gerd Strenge to confirm that the statement, claiming was his, was actually him?

Thnx
Z

Nick Goodall 21-05-2007 02:58 PM

I would ignore everything you've read for now - i'm sure it's all being cleared up behind the scenes in a legal sense.

The Aero car is still being developed, still winning and i'm sure it'll be released very soon.......

jimmy 21-05-2007 03:07 PM

Yeah I think this argument has been buried now - yes it is Gerd and Yes Aero are Aero, they are / have sorted it out between themselves as far as I know.
:)

zaquiz 21-05-2007 04:35 PM

Sorry Jimmy, not 100% sure of what you are saying...

"sorted it out between themselves"... which means? Aero can continue with the project? Third party will also continue with plans of produce and distribute the patent, plans, or whatever they bought from Mr G? Mr G will sue Aero for something, depending on if he had registered a patent or not? Many questions, and few or no answers....

Who is right in all this? Maybe an impossible question to ask, but is certainly an UNCLEAR story...

So many things that are not clear at ALL for me.

jimmy 21-05-2007 04:45 PM

I mean that it is being / has been, sorted out behind closed doors. If there is something to know then I'm sure there would be an announcement, but there hasn't been anything said, and both sides are concentrating on their own projects which is how it should be.

Hello All
I know I speak for a few people when i ask Aero racing for an update or news of the A1 car.

Cooper 30-05-2007 05:21 PM

they claim to have the molds ready in 3 or 4 weeks so they can start production then.

big_boss 31-05-2007 05:28 AM

Thanks coop.

Lee Martin 31-05-2007 07:26 AM

Flyinggekko 04-06-2007 10:20 AM

i have seen the moulds and they are stunning to say the least! you can tell already the quality that this car is gonig to have!

pictures will not be submitted but trust me....they are amazing.

maybe after they have produced the cars, tht you will get to see them. for now they are a Aero secret.

Flyinggekko 05-06-2007 03:37 PM

I hope they will post some pictures before shipping, because i won`t pay for something i`ve never seen.

thanks

stephan

To be fair it's not exactly common practise for any manufacturer to post up pictures of their molds - whether X-Factory did it or not is irrelevant.

Lee Martin 06-06-2007 07:28 AM

you will see pictures of the car...........

i thought that would be obvious........

no one is going to get a surprise in the post!

im also sure Aero wont send anything that isnt paid for. so therefore you need to see it! .lol

Flyinggekko 21-06-2007 07:08 PM

i think this topic needs an update. The guys of Aero told us that the first boxes will be shipped in July so whats up? It seems that Aero don`t want to make promotion (ok ok....maybe it`s better so...the last time the use the name of Gerd Strenge ;) )

tc2k 21-06-2007 07:35 PM

Its june

Tnx
Zacarias

Lee Martin 24-06-2007 04:53 PM

as far as i am aware, everything is on schedule and should be out as soon as possible....

stefke 02-07-2007 01:44 PM

I talked to the guys behind Aero yesterday at our National in Kampenhout. If I've understood it correctly, they are in the proces of making the boxes, packaging and composing the manual. They expect the first kits to be ready in 2 weeks.

super__dan 02-07-2007 02:45 PM

Pidge are you running a production spec car in Belgium then?

Hairy Spider 03-07-2007 08:22 AM

Hi All,

Any indication of what rate Aero are expecting to process through the pre-order list once they get going ?

[Anyone who remembers (or rather suffered ) the original BJ4 pre-order should understand where that question is coming from :eh?:...]

Jon.

Lee Martin 03-07-2007 09:28 AM

as fast as pos..........

when the mould is finished they will be flying out!

olefiloux 06-07-2007 11:06 AM

Hi every body!
I'm on the first part of the A1 waiting list, and I'm very curious about.
I would like to know if the final price was definited? I'm very curious about pieces price to.
Pidge, if you have some news about this, please let us know!!!

...a french guy lost here :p ...

maxoo 30-07-2007 09:50 AM

no news or no date for the moment???

MrHeinz 30-07-2007 10:49 PM

I spoke the Aero people at the Euro's and what I understood from them ( if I'am not mistaken ) was that they hoped to have it ready in 2 weeks.
For prices you have to ask them.

SHY 31-07-2007 08:06 AM

Shipping in july will obviously not happen as it's august tomorrow ;)

As I see it this racing season is soon over, so no real point in rushing things now, won't be able to compete with it this year anyway. So I'd prefer they make the kits 100% and take no shortcuts!

But some pics of the production parts we deserve to see by now!

On the new web page www.aeroracing.eu :

"At this moment we are in the final stage of testing, we want to be sure to deliver high-standard products to our customers. At the end of August there will be a press release about our estimated time of release."

:)

jimmy 28-08-2007 09:11 AM

I saw some parts this weekend - the only photo I was allowed to take was of the wheels though. It all looks very good indeed!

I guess they want to surprise some people - I think they should throw a couple of photos out there to tease, but they are doing it their own way I guess.

SHY 28-08-2007 09:13 AM

Sounds good! (Can we see the rims?)

And it's not Christmas yet... ;)

As to price: it's 2-3 times cheaper than a Durango. Which is also impossible to get hold of... I say the price is A-OK!

Will it be manufactured in China on a long term basis? Or is production planned to stay in Belgium?

He's even painted the shell in his own colours...
