Hello can anyone help me please?
I have just purchased a Tekin rs pro and spent all night wiring it up beautifully:thumbsup:
I Then came to switch it on and set it to the hand set....it wont set the brakes or recognise me pulling the stick back to the brake position??? and wont end the set up sequence....any ideas please

first try the servo reverse, and also check your EPA for throttle AND brake are set to 100%, get back with what happens.

Rebelrc 07-01-2010 10:26 PM

Hello DCM thanks for the help but whats an epa?

hide 07-01-2010 10:27 PM

What radio do you have?

Rebelrc 07-01-2010 10:28 PM

Vantage 2 KO
does anyone know the settings for it
or shall i just factory reset it and try again?

DCM 07-01-2010 10:31 PM

make sure your end points are at 100 for your brake and throttle, try again, if no joy, try servo reverse on the throttle.

Rebelrc 07-01-2010 10:51 PM

The only way i can get it to work is to reverse the servo on the throttle Will this bugger it up? is this ok? do Tekin need to send me another speedo?

DCM 07-01-2010 10:54 PM

I can't remember with the KO, but if it wont set with the EPA set to 100%, then you need to flip the servo reverse, like you would if you steering was going the wrong way.

HarlowS 07-01-2010 11:09 PM

I have had the same issue with my KO. If you simply reverse the throttle on the transmitter and set it like that, then switch it back again all will be fine.:)

Rebelrc 07-01-2010 11:11 PM

I think ive sorted it now with servo reverse ( is this ok?)
many thanks
thought i was going madder....:woot:
just had a go at checking all the brakes etc and the way it works with all the lights and beeps reminds me of my all time favorite speedo the MRT Vtrac they were ace!

Rebelrc 07-01-2010 11:13 PM

Cheers Harlow
many thanks
when you say switch it back what did you mean ?

HarlowS 07-01-2010 11:15 PM

set it with your throttle reveresed on your tx, when its calibrated ok just change your tx back to how it was.

Rebelrc 07-01-2010 11:21 PM

Sorry mate am i being a numb nut .
do you mean set the speedo up with the throttle servo reversed then once it is set set the throttle to normal ...wont the car go backwards
thanks for the help HarlowS, sorry i am struggling with this...

DCM 07-01-2010 11:24 PM

you should just reverse it and leave it, as if you swap it back after, it won't work.

Is your KO one with the model memory?

Rebelrc 07-01-2010 11:26 PM

I think so its a type R

DCM 07-01-2010 11:28 PM

so you set it in the menu's then

Rebelrc 07-01-2010 11:35 PM

Set what in the menu's?
sorry i am being thick DCM:blush:

HarlowS 07-01-2010 11:37 PM

In the menu on your KO the throttle will be set to normal ?? yes ? change it to reverse then set your speedo up as normal using the quick setup. When it has calibrated your forward and reverse positions change the tx back to 'normal' on the throttle. Job done. Dont know what causes it but that has worked fine for me in the past.

Rebelrc 07-01-2010 11:47 PM

thanks stuart i have tried this but it just goes backwards:confused:

HarlowS 07-01-2010 11:49 PM

what if you change your throttle back to reverse on your tx ??

HarlowS 07-01-2010 11:50 PM

Just checked my KO and im running the throttle in reverse. So try that if you have calibrated it. I presume your speedo calibrated ok when you changed your tx ???

Rebelrc 07-01-2010 11:51 PM

it works then...but surely thats not right?

DCM 07-01-2010 11:53 PM

It is just the way the ESC see's the throttle input, it don't really matter which way it is set. Just like some servo's work the opposite way. Just remember it if you have to do it again.

Don't think of it as a throttle, it is just a signal you send using the throttle stick.

HarlowS 07-01-2010 11:55 PM

lol DCM beat me to it :p (honest)

If your getting full throttle and the brakes are working, and it calibrated ok with your tx in reverse then jobs a goodun :)

Rebelrc 07-01-2010 11:56 PM

yes stuart it all seems fine when servo is reversed on transmitter and i run thru the set up ( calibration) bizzare
many thanks again mate for your help and you DCM:)

DCM 08-01-2010 12:11 AM

your welcome, if you need any other advice, just ask.

stuey 08-01-2010 08:51 AM

My Losi Xcelorin needed to have the throttle seversed on my KO radio before it would calibrate. Once reversed it calibrated fine.

Rikus 08-01-2010 09:04 AM

Make sure your breake and throtle triming on your tx is a 100%
