Tamworth Micro National - Conway and Robertson take wins.

Tamworth was the venue for the 4th round of the 2009/2010 BRCA Micro National series, held on sunday the 3rd of January.
Danny Conway dominated 2WD, taking the TQ and win with his 2WD converted LRP Shark.
Meanwhile in 4WD things were a little more open - with reigning champion Mark Stiles battling with returning former-champion Craig Harris and Keith Robertson for the TQ and Win. Craig Harris too TQ, winning two rounds of qualifying - whist Mark and Keith took a round each. At the end of a hard fought final where all three lead the race it was Keith Robertson that took the well deserved win.

LOL!

Entering a single colour shell into Concours reminds me of Stuart's 'Special Olympics' joke LOL

jimmy 05-01-2010 11:53 AM

I have to admit - mine was a 1 colour can job as well - but at least I tried to cover it up with stickers

Great work Jimmy, super-quick getting the report up (glad the meeting wasn't at Eden Park...)

And that conversation about retirement was confidential or didn't I make that clear! LOL

It's hard to tell the cars apart as they're so damn quick. Good job mine's a bright colour.

Craig, is that a XX4 servo mount holding you topdeck on?? :woot:

Yes, the wife needs to work on her camera and child silencing skills  The whole B-final felt like a messy affair. There were bumps and shoves all over the place but I mostly messed up my own chances by falling off the big jump or hitting barriers! From B4 to B1 to B10 back up to B4. :bored:

Still, the loooong Shark felt AWESOME

The positive response convinced me to go through my photos and put a few up in a gallery here: http://www.oople.com/rc/photos/tamworth030110/pics/ it's also linked on the race report itself:)

Awesome pics, top review Jimmy :D
What lens do you use to shoot your indoor action shots??

jimmy 06-01-2010 01:18 PM

Half of them were with my old 70-200 F2.8 and the rest with my 50mm F1.4 - it was a pretty dark hall but the 50 1.4 was pretty good - just really shallow DoF and slooooow focusing:lol:

ace report. shame i haven't been able to make any rounds this year.

Nice to see Keith take the honours. thought he would be dangerous once he upgraded his narrow blaze!! (he wasn't exactly slow with that!)

I was trying a 50mm 1.8! Wouldn't of been too bad with auto focus but my D60 body doesn't have it :(

c0sie 07-01-2010 12:51 PM

Can I have those pics Dan?
Need em asap'y :)

Danosborne6661 07-01-2010 01:12 PM
