they are but the cells never move an inch so its never a problem , you would see the marks on the drive shaft if they did..

Bathy 30-04-2007 07:37 PM

Ouch, you think a fan (not the cheering kind) would have helped?

i dont know to be honest Bathy, i had one on the motor as it was..
sending off to Horizon anyway, have put in there for a replacement TC version ;) (no harm in asking)

The Monk 01-05-2007 09:38 AM

Paul

You may be in for a 'little wait'! I've just had my replacement LRP Sphere back from horizon hobbies after waiting 5 weeks! :o

Seams the same with Nosram/Mirarge. Just sent my Matrix off and they too out of stock with a delivery expected mid to end may, but unsure as to how far I am down the list weather I get one from that batch!

There seams to be a lot of 'magic smoke' in the air!:D

Southwell 01-05-2007 09:46 AM

Ive had worse, one of my old KO's back in the 90's imploded, there was just a big hole through the middle :D

Kopite 01-05-2007 10:21 AM

Imploded? Cooooool!

I've sent my motor back to horizon, and they informed me that they had no stock to fix it, so i reckon it's gonna be a long wait as well.

Out of curiosity, has anyone had a Novak motor pack in?

Wraggy 01-05-2007 10:25 AM

Strange My LRP Motor Melted down (pattern forming here) at tivvy 3 weeks ago and got a replacement next day from Horizon so im surprised your having to wait...
be interested if anyone has had problems with Novak Speedos also ..
or is the problem with LRP & Nosram ???

Kopite 01-05-2007 10:36 AM

yeah mate, they replaced it the first time after a day, but they hadn't actually fixed it, just replaced the rotor. it was still faulty though, so when i sent it back, they had no replacements.

might get a novak system to be honest

I had two Novak GTB's (2wd and 4wd) both for some reason gave my car major glitching/interferance (using KO 40meg). To the point my car was driving it's self at Coventry. Repoistioned my electrics but could not solve the problem.

Changed speedo's to Nosram 2wd and LRP 4wd (both with Novak motors) and solved the glitching, but my car now leaves a smoke trail like a red arrow and comes to holt with marshalls running for cover!

Kopite 01-05-2007 11:02 AM

how many people have tried using novak motors with LRP/Nosram speedos? cos the sensor wire does fit! just a bit reluctant to try it, in case the magic blue smoke shows itself

millzy 01-05-2007 11:13 AM

im sure Alex springer had that combo in his s4 at tivy. not sure how he got on with it

Kopite 01-05-2007 12:07 PM

neeeeeed to know:o

BenG 01-05-2007 12:10 PM

poor wraggster, did it damage your S4?

Looks mankey, like a little shriveled (but metallic blue ) raisin.

bigred5765 01-05-2007 12:40 PM

novak motors run fine on lrp or nosram even says so on lrp forum

craigosh 01-05-2007 02:20 PM

Yup, had a velociti 6.5 hooked up to a matrix evo since last year in the bj4 nae probs so far, touch wood. Runs fairly cool as well.

The Monk 01-05-2007 02:25 PM

I've run Novak Motors in both LRP and Nosram speedos, and both speedo's have blown.:eh?:

strobe 06-05-2007 06:24 PM

Anyone tried orion /peak brushless motors with lrp speedos

mattym0310 08-05-2007 05:01 PM

i was gna ask, has anyone tried orion/peak brushless motors at all?? [part from ash, who i know does]

also, whilst we're on the subject of magic smoke, my friend used to run an mTroniks Cirrus, and once, we switched it on and suddenly BANG! and the speed control set on fire and the car started running round and round in circles, like a chicken with no head, all over the road. :D

[the control] had a HUGE hole in the side and back of it and was surrounded by magic smoke and guey remains :p

haha!

sorry about the lil story lol.

Wraggy 10-05-2007 10:02 AM

ashleyb4 10-05-2007 10:32 AM

Good to here that paul.

A

Kopite 10-05-2007 10:45 AM

ooo, wonder if my motor's turned up then...

BenG 10-05-2007 11:14 AM

Yeah thats very good.

I sent my LRP Stealth 2 charger back once, and it was replaced with a brand new one withing 1 week.

Not bad when postage will have taken up alot of that time :)

That said, I did end up buying a Team Orion Advantage 2 charger, for liPO charging.

Lee Martin 10-05-2007 08:42 PM

alecs setup didnt even wrk....lol

_JP_ 10-05-2007 10:20 PM

has it shorted on the carbon, thats what it looks like

I had a LRP/Nosram blow up in my XXX4 when the speedo moved

tyreman 11-05-2007 09:14 AM

It shouldn't have JP as the graphite chassis is non conductive, it would only blow on a carbon fiber chassis
