Racing Sunday 22nd November 2009

Those planning on racing please post in here.

Weather is looking ok at the moment.

Just makes it easier for booking in.

Again people who haven't been before if you could provide the class, frequencies and PT (if you have one)

:D

I'm planning on racing
4WD - Cat SX

Matt-h 18-11-2009 09:38 AM

hoping to be there.

Pm sent

Randall34 18-11-2009 02:06 PM

I am planning to come down again,
Details are the same as last week except i have shelved the X-6 in favour of the B4, so you can put me in as a B4 driver, see if i can join the close racing battle of Alistair and Dave.

mikeyscott 18-11-2009 03:42 PM

Thanks guys I'll add you to the provisional list tonight.

I'll be certainly interested to see how you get on with the B4 :)

Randall34 18-11-2009 04:42 PM

Fingers crossed for no rain. Hopefully get a bodyshell in time (and paint it).

Good man. I shall add you to the provisional booking list on the computer.

Are you buying a PT off Julian?

super gripper 20-11-2009 02:37 PM

Mike,

Put me on the provisional list please. I have a lot of work to do to my car but I should be there.

Good man! Quite a few 4WD boys this weekend :)

I just need to replace some shot bearings.. Cat SX doesn't come with ceramic bearings by default.. Not impressed.

Matt-h 20-11-2009 06:40 PM

why would you want ceramics?

Get cheap ones and lob them in the bin every couple of meetings - especially this time of year.

Matt

I will do, if he's got one going spare. Is he just buying a job lot, or what?

weather

I have provisionaly booked in Mike but I will see in the morning, the weather is set to be very wet and it is a 45 min drive for me.

it's good so many people are saying they will be there, I will watch the local news and weather to night but it does not look good.

well I wonder how many people turned out today? it is hammering it down here (10.37) and with the heavy rain we had last nite the track must be a lake by now!:(

oh well I have more work to do on my car anyway so not a great loss.........

kettle has just boiled.........cuppa time

wylie 22-11-2009 11:22 AM

Weather started out dry but we had a very large downpour and racing was called off, the track was in very good shape even after all the rain we had and ten minuets with a broom and squeegy and most of the standing water was gone. Approx ten peaple turned up today

mikeyscott 22-11-2009 11:49 AM

Indeed what Wylie said..

We are planning on do a work party to do some more drainage near race control.

Otherwise all the new PT runners ran with the new system without any problems

Just need to get the speaker system sorted

Matt-h 22-11-2009 11:56 AM

More like a week cleaning it up and 5 minutes to prep :(

Just stripped all the bearings out and put some oil on them. Will clean then when I come back home later.

wylie 22-11-2009 04:03 PM

Fried speedo today, really need some advice on what to do. i currently have a novak 6.5t light motor, now do i buy a new speedo £120 (GTB) or shall i buy the losi combo for £133 with 6.5t motor or open to other sugestions

mikeyscott 22-11-2009 05:08 PM

Ouch, was that water damage? Tekin RS Pro from US?

You could get a combo with a different wind motor? Dibble uses the Losi I think?

wylie 22-11-2009 05:52 PM

Took esc apart (terrible smell) no moisture at all inside the only part that was wet was the switch!!!

mikeyscott 22-11-2009 05:59 PM

Hi

odd, looked like it ran well to that point. Is it repairable?

super gripper 22-11-2009 06:17 PM

I use the Losi 6.5 and bought it as a combo. I would recomend this to anyone looking at going brushless.

6.5 is plenty the esc is pre programed with an easly selectable off road setting.

if your switch got wet then a low voltage short circuit feedback might have made the speedo go pop............

super gripper 22-11-2009 06:24 PM

cheap bearings
