i this the second thread asking the same question?
I've answered in the other thread.

I've reported this thread to get it deleted.

pinion gears size would be better i am using a 78spur gear and i need the right pinion gear with the 5.5turn would be a big help for the 5.5turn motor and the 4600kv motor

Stampede...

Either brush up on your mathematics and work out a sensible ratio yourself, or use trial and error.

I'm sure we're all pretty sick of reading thread after thread of you requesting different ratios for your endless truck, motor and gearing combinations.

its for a madrat and keep your comment to yourself mate. i need to know if i can use a 78spur gear with a 5.5turn or do i need a bigger spur gear and smaller pinion gear ???????

James 31-10-2009 11:19 AM

Try a ratio of about 9.5-10

raine 31-10-2009 12:57 PM

why do u use alloy shock towers ? just dremel some carbon ones , if u cant buy them.

Col 31-10-2009 01:30 PM

cos carbon is not bling enough

Paulmay79 31-10-2009 01:40 PM

They are cnc lazer cut titanium not alloy i know i sold him them.

gearing

Just try any combination out. If you smell burning then stop and gear it differently

:thumbsup::thumbsup:

try that just for bashing not for racing

Just work out the closest ratio to this range and itl be fine......

stampede vxlboy 31-10-2009 09:23 PM

were will i find that out ?

this totaly depends on your pinion i would go with the 81T spur and a 19T pinion

Its the gearing ratio:

SPUR / (divided by) PINION X (multiplied by) INTERNAL RATIO (you'll have to find this out, it will be in the insructions, should be 2.5 ish)

the I.R is the same as the B4

stampede vxlboy 31-10-2009 10:19 PM

i will have to buy some spur gear as its a rb5 spur gear and slipper i will order 2 81spur gear and and 84spurgear

jim76 31-10-2009 10:29 PM

just keep your spur gear and work out the correct pinion. changing the spur by 2 teeth isn't going to make a huge difference for bashing. You are better to have a range of 4-5 pinions than a few different spur gears

Just do as James says, and find the pinion that will give you a ratio between 9.5 and 10, and then stick with it.

stampede vxlboy 31-10-2009 10:41 PM

its a rb576spur gear the pinion will have to be about 15pinion i got told but not sure on the spur. i will try it with pinion gears first and the spur . its the same ration as the b4 and that a 81spur gear and 20 pinion gear . can i use the slipper plate of the madrat with a b4spur gear and slipper pads
thanks jimmy

stampede vxlboy 31-10-2009 11:33 PM

thanks jimmy i will try it but i need to get a new spur gear as it worn
