Those of you who frequent the club will be well aware of Team Shambles, who we are and what we do. :lol:

I thought I would start a thread dedicated to those wonderful repairs that we carry out with a little help from our friends Mr. D. Tape and his colleague Mr Z. tie.

I'll start off with two masterpieces..... My recent wing repair and Mr. Dodds Zip tied rear end of his B3.

For my wing I used some metal washers and taped them into position to reinforce the already destroyed mounting holes. We shall see how effective this is tonight, Im sure Reg and Pat will test it with a good ass-shunting. :thumbsup:

This one I am especially proud of. Initially the inspiration came from me, but Mr. Dodd's bodgecraft really shines here to finish the job. Credit where it's due, Dave you are now an offical shambler. :D

Dave snapped his hinge pin holder-thing. As he runs a B3 we thought it was game over for the night due to lack of spares, but here at Team shambles "it ain't over till the fat bird sings, or we run out of tape".

A couple of strategically placed zip ties around the hinge pin, and then under the loosened transmission held everything in place, well for a few laps it did. But thats a few laps more than it would've got without any zip ties lol. IN hindsight this could've been more effective if we had used some duct tape to secure the zip ties in place, or just simply used more zip ties. We will learn from this and modify this technique for next time......

Better not let Colin see pictures of your wing, he will be charging you for club tape, especially as he had to go home on sunday morning to pick up some tape for the sunday series as we had used the spares he had left for the saturday.

I think we at team shambles should definatly sign up to this club.

Lloyd, I'll be running 1.63 deg camber on the rear and 0.85 deg front this week and my pit towel fragrance will be Lenor "Hint of Fuschia".

:( Shambles has hit hard! I was just soldering a new RX cable on my brushless ESC as I was having problems with it, it won't even turn on now! :cry:

Its nice to know ocd can think of the little things when we have the time to chill, what with not having to reassemble half the car after every race.

As you may expect, I log the amount of current going into my packs every time I recharge them. I have a chart going back 2 years. But I am afraid it is only available to OCD drivers.

For your purposes Ant, the answer is "some".

Probably a bit more than that too i would recon.

:mad: so if I manage to string a few laps together and run for circa 5 mins what am I looking at? 1 battery for 2 heats?

Ant there are 2 rules of team shambles.....

First rule of team shambles, dont clean anything

second rule of team shambles, dont measure anything. Just whack it in, set your lipo cut off and when it stops grin smugly and tell paul that had your battery not died you "would of had him" :D

The T shirts are a goer! Excellent idea. So who is going to players then?

With my 3800's I can get one and a half heats out the X6 and that is running 6.5. If you can charge at the club you should be fine. Thats what I did over summer, I only had 2. I only got another 2 as I was too lazy to rush about fiddling with the charger when I should be marshalling.

Players is later this month I think and you'll need to get your entry in quick I think it fills up. Might be wrong...

Ant, you'll be fine with 2 if you're charging at the club. Otherwise I'd get 4 to be sure that you'll have enough capacity to finish the race (assuming your wheels stay on of course).

And if you are charging at the club, don't do it near me because my pit towel is flammable. :o
