Anybody planning on running the RB5 / ZX5-FS at the nationals next year?

Basically as the subject line really ....... want to know how many Kyosho folks there are likely to be

SimonW 29-10-2009 07:49 PM

Me Hopefully as long as a job comes my way between now and April, and i will be running the shocks on the back of my FS too.

Kopite 29-10-2009 07:53 PM

I will be until the Schumacher Jaguar comes out

RSharpy 29-10-2009 08:13 PM

Will be running the RB5 again, inboard version now though, until the Schuey arrives :)

Defo RB5 for me and more than likely the FS if it continues to improve to my likeing

Cool ... was considering my options as the lack of a "team" means that we have to do our own set-up development. Something I normally enjoy doing but now I have to work a 2nd job my time is limited and to be honest I think there is still a way to go on the FS from where I am currently running it, hopefully it will continue to improve over the winter and will come out fighting for the spring.

RB5 is still the best 2wd car I've ever driven.

Phil Channon 30-10-2009 12:23 PM

I will be racing the RB5 from now and all next year.

RogerM 30-10-2009 12:37 PM

Good to see you back with the RB5 Phil ... you doing any of the Kiddy / Cov MAMs?

Fabs 30-10-2009 12:44 PM

I'm confused.

3 weeks ago you were telling me you couldn't afford the racing and was willing to sell the ZX5. Now you're gonna do the nationals ?

Phil Channon 30-10-2009 12:56 PM

I will be at Oswestry this Sunday and hope to get at least one round at both Kiddy and Coventry.

RogerM 30-10-2009 03:52 PM

Fabs, things change in a month .... all I will say is that the threat of court action produced some money owed to me from somebody, that has allowed me to sort a few things out along with a second job and now I am very much looking forward to racing in 2010. Certainly no need to sell my ZX5-FS now :)

I didn't say that I would be doing nationals, mearly interested in knowing who will be running the cars at the nationals as whatever car I am racing I do next year I'd like to not be the only person running one!

Looks like there will be a few people running the cars next year after all.

SimonW 30-10-2009 07:08 PM

Hopefully there will be a few more yet, maybe Mr Willets will decide to run/be contracted to run 1/10th electric next year.

My strategy is to visit you guys for one or two BRCA events next year. I'm running the RB-5 SP and ZX-5 FS.

Cheers,
PerErik from Sweden

I will be honest and say that I was thinking of moving on from the FS to a car with more people running it but now I think I will keep the FS for 2010, it was never the car that I was unhappy with.

I think I may have just found a way of unlocking a few 10ths from her as well ... as soon as I sure I'll post up details

Do you know something I don't then Matt?

I think they are seriously good cars and just lacking a bit in support from "top" drivers in the UK to push the set-up development along. Hope somebody can convince Butch to come back to his roots :D

Spencer Mulcahy 08-11-2009 08:44 PM

Roger speak to Nick his FS looks dialed at every track we go to and his RB 5 looks the dogs too. It is a lesson we can all learn stick to one car and learn how it works which is what Nick has done with the FS.

RogerM 09-11-2009 04:01 PM

Thanks for the input Spencer ... I've been running the SP since the week the car was available in the UK and upgraded to an FS, ran the RB5 since my return to 1/10th off-road from 1/8th. I'm not a rapid car swapper like some people are and I agree that you have to have patience to get the best from any chassis.

My consideration was that as far as I knew very few people other than myself & Fabs (who drives very different from me) where doing any real set-up development. I now know that not to be the case!!!

FS was great at the weekend!!!
