FORCC 2009-10 Winter Series Round 1/6 18-10-09

Team No Idea 16-10-2009 01:46 PM

Yay! what time is kick off ?

Hog 16-10-2009 02:17 PM

Apologies to all and sundry at FORCC as I'd fully intended to start a thread for Sunday, but just haven't been near a PC to do so!

The first round of the 2009/10 FORCC Winter Series is upon us. Once again we're blessed with the prospect of some superb racing in the 3 classes. The format of the last Winter Series remains unchanged with 4 rounds of heats against the clock, with 3 legged finals available to all.

The only difference this year is that the meeting will be run on a timer to insure we finish on time and to eliminate delays. Once the meeting starts each race will run at a specified time and will not be held up. Relief marshalling will be in operation, so if you end up marshalling and not being replaced please inform us so that the person who didn't marshal can be hung, drawn and quartered

It's intended that heat 1 will go at 9.45am, but ideally we'd like everyone there at the latest 8.45am so booking in can be closed and the heats readied. The earlier the better really and it means more practice time.

We have the promise of a few visitors as well over the series, but from a first headcount on Wednesday we'll have at least 35 drivers for Round 1.

The only remaining question is what has Crewie got up his sleeve for track designs? We all know what he's capable of - are there a few surprises in store for the unwary...........???

See you all Sunday :D

Only put it back where it started. The base had moved which had lowered the kicker too much. Doesn't normally happen but somehow did today:(.

B&H Racing 18-10-2009 08:30 PM

Another great meeting by the Fav Crew.

Thought the timing system worked well, with no waiting between heats.

Got through a hell of a lot of races in a fast time.

Nelly 18-10-2009 08:33 PM

Had a great day racing today and would like to say thanks to all the faversham team for a excellent meeting as always:thumbsup:

I'm sure this will be up for discussion come Wednesday.......

whissstle 20-10-2009 09:00 PM

auto timer on Wednesdays?

I know I'm an ex banker and getting old, but has anyone got the calculator out to see how long 5 and 6 heats doing 3 qualifiers and 1 final each at 5 minutes, with 3 minute interludes would take?
If we continue to start at 8pm, what time will we finish?
Answers please. I know, but I wonder if you do!!
Good idea though.

rc_penguin 20-10-2009 09:13 PM

Right ive just bothered to sit and work this out, for 5 heats with 3 minute interludes it would take 2 hours and 44 minutes (i think) and that is including a ten minute break inbetween the three qualifiers and one final (not sure if needed),

So if we start at 8pm we will finish about quarter to eleven, which is about the time we finish now if im right :D

discostu 20-10-2009 09:35 PM

im confused why would we need 3 mins between heats 1min 30 should be plenty of time to step off rostrum take transponder out and go to marshal point.

Think you'll find it's more like 10.15 when racing finishes Will.

We do have to consider the younger ones in this equation too. I agree it would be nice perhaps to change the format and run finals, but in doing so it means those that have to leave early will miss out entirely. At the moment at least if they get 2 runs they stand a good chance of a good points tally.

Unless of course it's possible to run heats and finals, but the league points are based on qualifying, and the finals are run purely for fun?

It may be viable if we can get underway earlier perhaps.
