DCM 09-10-2009 03:35 PM

what metal are they made of, as in general, metal shock towers never really work well.

Paulmay79 09-10-2009 04:13 PM

aero grade titanium.

DCM 09-10-2009 04:56 PM

it will bend dude, it is the one area, where Carbon Fibre or some Graphite Plastic.

Paulmay79 09-10-2009 06:10 PM

I doubt it dude its 3.2mm i had all on bending the bumper i made in an actual folding machine. But if it does ill just re fit the old stuff.

rc_dan 09-10-2009 06:13 PM

great skills

Paulmay79 09-10-2009 06:14 PM

Ta dan.

Benjab 09-10-2009 06:53 PM

Maybe alucobond will work? Its like a sandwich. Thin alumnium, some kind of plastic and then aluminium again.

Ive got a big sheet :)

stampede vxlboy 17-10-2009 08:32 AM

paul does your esc stop dead brakes or are they slower with 5.5turn motor

Paulmay79 17-10-2009 08:35 AM

The wheels stop but it skids.Im running a speedpassion gt2 esc with a speedpassion 5.5 motor. Works really well.

stampede vxlboy 17-10-2009 08:43 AM

so take it that it takes longer to stop then with the power. my 10 turner and 8.5 stop dead . but the 5.5 takes longer to stop :woot:

DCM 17-10-2009 08:46 AM

it all depends on the rotor you use, if your 5.5 uses a bonded rotor, your brakes will be very soft, I have a 6.5 in the 4wd, and on the road, it will lock all four wheels, I have a bonded 10.5, and it couldn't stop a rampaging field mouse.

Its just the same pricipal as with a normal car if you slam the brakes on at top speed no matter what size engine the car will slide.

stampede vxlboy 17-10-2009 09:36 AM

Paulmay79 17-10-2009 01:31 PM
