CHEAPEST PS3 Place???
 

Hi all, where is the cheapest /best deal you have seen being done on the ps3 please??? Do i only need the hdmi cable to watch hd bluray and what would be needed to play online???

Not claiming to be an expert on this yet, but i've just bought one. I only got a HDMI cable, cos it gives better quality picture than the standard cables that come with the system, but i imagine you can still use the standard stuff. However, if you're gonna spend that much on the ps3, you may as well get the HDMI cable!

Didn't do anything to go online, other than connect the ps3 to my wireless router. Result!!

Now i'm kicking fat yanks online on COD5. Get in!!

ps - i got my slim ps3 from Game.

pps - if you want some good advice on all things PS3, drop Doddy a line. He's had one for a while (but is still crap at FIFA)

Ebuyer have got them for £239.99. I've used them myself, and they're very good.

You need an HD compatible TV, and an HDMI cable to watch Blu-ray films in HD.

It has a wireless B/G network adapter built in, meaning if you have a wireless network that uses B or better, you can connect straight up to the Internet. Failing that, it has an ethernet cable socket.

Signing up to and using PSN (Playstation Network - the equivalent of Xbox Live) is free. Only some game downloads (add-ons) need to be paid for - the same as with the 360.

At gamestaation you can trade in your old one for £140 it says, so that saves you and take the games offer then trade them in then knock that off the new console, because most people have there said gamesa they play anyway,This is what i will do

gamestation offers to beat any other competitor prices, so find a price at game and if its cheaper gamestation offer to beat it.. play them against each other! saves you some pennys :)

If your TV supports it get a HDMI cable but don't spend much. You should be able to get one more than good enough for £10 or less.

You have the added bonus with this one that it will play ps2 disks/games and have memory card slots.

Unfortunately not. it will play ps1 disks but not ps2, play-station store has some of the classic ps2 games on there to download (at a cost) but not some of my favorites.

yeah, i saw a 'classic ps2 games' compilation for the ps3 in game the other day, which included the best game of all time....Streets of Rage 2

I know it's too late now but just in case anybody else reads this post Tesco appear to be knocking out 40gb "big" PS3's ie, not the new slim one, for £200.

Not sure what the stock levels are like across the UK but our local store had at least a few in a couple of days ago.

Pidge: Stan's right Fifa is way better these days:thumbsup: a few years ago I would of agreed with you about pro evo but they just haven't kept up with Fifa's improvements.
