Sunday Racing
Would people be interested in a club in the North East running indoors on a sunday afternoon?? Probably 12 till 5 every week except when regionals are on.
Could people also post there reasoning wether yes or no. Thanks Peter |
i would be peter, the reson i sold my B44 was it was hard for me to get racing on a tuesday night, but if it was sunday i might have to invest again  and if the dates diddnt clash with the NRX dates when we are up and running

Jake it would be every sunday, except for regional dates.

Well I put yes, cos the sundays I couldn't make it for doing worksop rounds etc..I still think there would be a good enough turnout by club racers who dont do worksop/bury or regionals. As for people with families etc if you think about it you spend roughly 3.5 hours there on a tuesday it's only another 1.5 hours extra, don't think it should make a massive differance.
|
i said yes becuase i have been out of racing for nearly a year and i need the practice to keep up.
Plus who doesnt want a bit more track time.......... Were there any particular clubs that were interested in hosting this? |
I'd much prefer club racing on a week night if possible..
Sundays are for "Big Events" |
Reason I put no:
Probably be at regional / national / worksop on weekends. Or away on holiday for a weekend. Weeknights aren't too much of an intrusion to 'holiday time', or weekend racing. And on a weekday, I can use works electricity to charge my batteries  It would also depend on area. Dunno if Id be tempted to an NERCR or NRX sunday electric club, if say JORCR was on Tuesday nights |

Chris, it's comments like this that show you are an accountant!!!! I also have a feeling that you will be visited by 3 ghosts this xmas:lol::lol: |
YES
my reason would be I have a 8 year old son who alway with me racing on tuesday night which my wife  ain't happy we returning home around 10.30pm which already passed his bed time at 9pm for school next day so therefore sunday is best time which mean he get to go bed normal time at 9pm  |
The reason this is being asked is after contacting close to 80 halls in the north for jorcr to move to, only one is big enough and don't want £40 an hour for the hiring. Only downside being the only available slot of 4+ hours is on a sunday.

I posted yes.
Sundays work better in my opinion as its the day pretty much everyone is off work and in a full day and evening getting 4 hrs away from home cant be too hard. A lot of other racing classes and formulas have big well attended meetings on sundays. A lot of other hobbies and pastimes are "Sunday sports" too, ever seen how much busier the metro centre or a golf course is on a sunday dinnertime compared to a tuesday night ?? Jimmi......... |
I would probably invest again if racing was on a Sunday and not a midweek night.
|
Yes, but if its JORCR, shouldnt it be a committee decision? And not an open forum. And we only need 3 hours.
|
It won't be just a committee desicion, that's why there is a meeting tonight at 9pm, Ian is going to let people know where.
Chris if you can find an alternative bring the details, as for time at present people struggle to build the track get 3 rounds and a final then put everything away in 3.5 hours, any less you might aswell not bother. My personal opinion doesn't really matter on this as I'm racing very little which is why it's on the forum and all the members are invited to this meeting tonight. Peter |

I said no because I will have to fight tooth and nail to get there every week with the wife !
I would prefer early sunday mornings say 8 till 12 then all parties can go 1. Young families are not affected to much 2. Kids can go 3. Day out is still possible I know that time is not available but for me its the best compromise if it were available |

Prime example was SSMRCA. A certain chairman ran the club like hitler and the commitee made all the decisions. I lost count of how many people left the club due to him. The decision should be put to ALL members for a vote. |
I voted yes because at this time its the clubs only option. Its not a case of choosing 2 venues. We only have this one.
The best night for me is sunday. 5pm ish - 9pm ish would be ideal for me. Does anybody else prefer sun night to sun morning??? At the minute its not a definate option but there is a chance we could get sunday night if we wanted it...??? |
On the subject of decisions, we could do with a one tomorrow,. I'll try and go to Seaham and get some pics for the people who couldn't get there. If not you'll just have to settle with a description.

What about a poll on the preferred time 1. Early 8 till 12am 2. 10 till 3pm 3. 5 till 9pm This would show what time the racers want and its what the club should push for long term |
8.00am is too early I.M.O. and Peter works sunday nights so unless someone else can put themselves forward to be the keyholder and organise everything then 10-3 it is..
3pm is not too late to still have time with the family really tho.. and there's nothing stopping you coming at 10 having 3 or 4 rounds of qualifying and leaving at 12.30ish if you need to? |
I think an 8 o clock start is far from realistic too, means someone has to be there to open up super early which wouldnt be fair. It also means people who have to travel would need to be on the road at stupid 'o' clock to get there.
10 til 3 seems like a good time as its not too early of a start and an early finish which means there is still time to go shopping with the missus if needs be... 5 til 9 is an okay time but it means late finishes on a Sunday night which will put people of as its the first day of the working week and little nippers cant come as its too late for them.... Is there other time options available for the hall ? I thought the only slot was ten til three which makes this discussion pretty futile..... Tim why dont you just tell your missus that on a sunday you will mostly be racing your toy cars, she will just have to deal with it  |
Spot on jimmi i want Ethan to start racing and if 1/10 off road is to keep going has to be an early finish:thumbsup:
|
New Patio + Wife = Racing on Sunday ! Problem Solved :woot:
Then theres just the police and all those uncomfortable questions :( |

totally agree with ya, 8am is too early for most people for a club meet and a 9pm finish is too late for people with kids, who after all will be the future racers in a few years..... |
10 till 3 all the way nice time, not to early to start and not to late finish, sounds pretty good to me, got my vote:thumbsup:

Tim,are you a friend of Fred West? |
Like i say 10-3 for now at the new venue then we'll get a feeling of who is going and what time is best for the majority.
Tim if a new patio will keep you racing give me a shout and i will give you a hand with it... |
Please be aware if these forms are signed
I need to know before midday tomorrow if I am signing these forms for 10-3pm, not for people to moan on constantly and want to change it all. At present there is only one reason stopping me from forgetting the lot because of the response received and that is the time and effort put in by myself, my partner and some members in building this club up from 2 racers a week I would hate to see the club close. |
10am till 3pm
spot on time for me and my boy |
