Southport Easter egg meeting

Hello all!

Next sunday on April 8th SRCC will be holding it's annual easter egg meeting. We will provide an egg per entrant, and hold a quality race day for all. Both 2WD and 4WD will be catered for.

The cafe will be operational also, providing food, snacks and drinks.

The track at todays meeting was in excellent condition, who's up for it?

Be at the club for 11 oclock, booking in at 11:30 and racing at 12 noon. we should be finished for about 5-6.

Dependant upon the number of entries of course! :)

Kopite 03-04-2007 01:36 PM

Will this meeting be cancelled if the rain comes?

Chrislong 03-04-2007 02:03 PM

It never rains in Southport :D

wacattack 03-04-2007 02:27 PM

Think me and the hulk will be there

Lee 03-04-2007 02:32 PM

I have never been to southport, i quite fancy this one now;)

Markoxx4 03-04-2007 02:34 PM

Im on for Southport, never been so can we have directions or a postcode for the satnav?
cheers.

Chrislong 03-04-2007 03:03 PM

Yes it is Victoria Park, Southport, on Rotten Row. If you go along the front with the sea on your right, get to the Bowling and retail park with all the restaurants and keep going, next big roundabout, turn left. Straight over the next roundabout and past Morrisons, then turn right at the next roundabout. You are now on Rotten Row. Drive slowly and keep looking to the right, you'll pass a Chinese and if you see a Caravan park - the track is before the Caravan Park.

Its really easy.

Chris

*snort*

I remember at the last National me and Vicky had to rescue a small boy who was almost drowning in a puddle (it was actually up past his knees... and he'd lost a welly!)...

And I remember the year before being sent photos of hail...

And the year before THAT my feet got so sore from the wet I could hardly walk (and so began the era of the flip flops..!)

Never rains in Southport eh!!!

RLGfx 03-04-2007 03:52 PM

I'm looking forward to this one, I've not raced at southport for years (think i was running an MX4 last time, or trying to anyway... my god that car was bad)

I'm hoping my spektrum Rx and Novak brushless all turn up in time!

bigred5765 03-04-2007 05:02 PM

sign matthew up, if theres enough turn up we will run 2wd and 4wd thanks

Cockerill 03-04-2007 05:05 PM

I should be there, looking to run both classes as well.

PaulRotheram 03-04-2007 05:20 PM

The meeting is looking to be a good turnout, we should run rain or shine, as we have all the eggs sorted, and i cant see us cancelling with them in our hands :D

burgie 04-04-2007 11:27 AM

Vicky Park Sat Nav

Rotten Row, PR8 2BZ

It only ever rains in Southport when a National is on , so we should be OK on Sunday!

For full information about the race, log onto www.srcc.co.uk - although there is not much more info than has been posted here!

Northy 04-04-2007 01:09 PM

No shop for spares, but as usual a canteen for food & drink...

PaulRotheram 05-04-2007 05:51 PM

Does any one have any checkpoint brushes + springs who will be there on sunday per chance?

Chrislong 05-04-2007 06:40 PM

Yes me, well, I have just brushes anyway. I no longer need these, infact Paul I reckon you should just not bother with them ;) brushless is the future.

But failing that, I'll have 1 pack of new brushes for you.

PaulRotheram 05-04-2007 06:44 PM

lol, i'll have to see if the motor ive bought arrives yet.. i'm sure bank holiday is slowing the arrival down.. along with my bloody tyres for tiv!

Nice one mate, i'll come see you if the motor is here!

hickston 05-04-2007 09:26 PM

How long is a peice of spaghetti?

Depends which way you come, Ormskirk and Skelmersdale can be a slow moving queueue, but for me I can avoid that by going M61 to Chorley, Euxton Lane, Bretherton, then A59 down to the Coast road and straight to Vicky Perk.

Magic mushrooms :p

Cockerill 06-04-2007 10:08 PM

Nice to see we are still on topic.

Regarding traffic, we left quite early last year expecting there to be quite a bit of traffic, however there was none and we were too early. Doesn't mean it will be the same this year tho...
