They are nearly £30 clear for the origional!! Thats insane!

jim76 03-09-2009 02:46 PM

yeah! unfortunately the spares prices aren't inline with the kit price!!

If the shell looks good then i think you may be shifting quite a lot of these!

Are these original Mad Rat body shells or copies from another maker .

jim76 03-09-2009 09:22 PM

i'm guessing he's made them himself as the originals are so expensive. good luck to him, awaiting photos!

I use a Proline Vortex RB-5 shell on mine as it gives a lot more room for a brushless esc with fan which the mad rat shell lacks
And it comes with 2 wings :)
Add a bit of velcro around the middle and away you go.

stampede vxlboy 03-09-2009 10:13 PM

how much are the rb5 shells with 2 wings ? were from anymodel shop ?

budgio 03-09-2009 10:18 PM

About 14 quid i paid
Microtech i think

stampede vxlboy 03-09-2009 10:22 PM

painted were that? i had to cut the window out and some of the back end of the shell to fit my esc in

stampede vxlboy 03-09-2009 10:25 PM

what makes the rb5 buggys ? losi or who?

Kyosho mate.

jim76 04-09-2009 10:36 AM

but the shell in question is a Proline shell, not a Kyosho original

but getting off topic. Pics please mr Concept!

ConceptRacing 04-09-2009 11:12 AM

Picture added, you wont believe how hard it is to take a picture of a clear shell, thats the best that came out and I took a few!!

jim76 04-09-2009 12:36 PM

looks good.
would it be possible to add a "scoop" on the right hand side where the speedo sits? allowing a bit more height for the speedo and also more air in?
not sure if this could be added to the mould for the next batch of shells?

ConceptRacing 04-09-2009 02:31 PM

Glad you like it, as the shells develop I will add certain changes to help cooling for the ESC and make it look slightly different to the original but to be fair I run a Nosram Matrix Evolution with out fan and a 7.5 Losi motor and havent found any heat issues yet,

I must admit since buying the car I never thought I would get hooked in this class, 2WD seems to suit my driving style as I also run a Cyclone C12 at national level, just wish the car had come out sooner so I could have more summer running time ( if you can call it a summer, mostly moist with dry bits in between) cant wait for next summer now as the winter will be taken up with 12th nationals over the winter, I might have to find some indoor meetings to run it at but it just isnt the same on carpet, grass is where it needs to be!!! look out for the Crazy Rat at a meeting near you!!! this Saturday will be more or less its last race at Hinckley RCCC before we go indoors.

stampede vxlboy 04-09-2009 05:03 PM

can you make a shell so i dont have to start cut holes out of it so my esc fits plz i need 1 as soon as because i had to cut the window out and the car get  wet through. as i had to cut the madrat shell up can you make it tall at the back end so my esc fits in the car.

stampede vxlboy 04-09-2009 05:09 PM

i will have a shell if you make the shell bigger and taller were the esc sits as i had cut my shell and all the crap gets in and rain

rc_dan 04-09-2009 10:26 PM
