Release Date

So has anone heard anymore about the actual release date yet.

I know it's about end of August but is it from 31st August or dragging over to September when we actually here anyhting.

Just I'm very eager like probably most of you guys to get one.

But i have sold my other buggy etc saved up, I havent been running for good few months now :(

Also on the website is says that the rear alloy toes in blocks etc are incl is this correct.
Also what do you guys reckon should be the first thing to get on spares?
I know know one has had the car, but just idea.

I was think the brass weights as i will be running LIPOS etc.

When the car is released, do we know if the spares will be available sametime so we can purchase then?

Not long now just over week left lol, counting the days down.

Adam Skelding 20-08-2009 07:17 AM

Hi,
As stated in a previous thread the release date is the end of August.

The Alloy rear anti-squat blocks are included in the kit (they are not rear toe-in blocks). However, you do get a set of 0 and 1 degree rear hubs in the kit.

Spares:
So far I found the car to be very durable. I broke a wishbone at the Euro's, but the impact I had should have broke a wishbone.

I'd recommend the spring sets and the brass weights as an option. I've not used the weights yet and I have been happy with the car.

Spares are on the same shipment as kits, so assuming your local model shop has put in an order for the spares, they'll get them the same time as the kits.

Durango UK will have a good stock of spares for the car to support the model shops that are selling Durango product, so the supply chain will be nice and quick.

I think spare's are avaliable when car comes out fella, when i get mine i was going to get wishbones and shock towers, everything else looks bomb proof

stegger 20-08-2009 07:20 AM

There you go carlin  adam beat me to it

I don't think the shock towers look too fragile either!

Do you think the AE springs will fit? It's not that I'd mind to spend some extra quid for the original set, but as I already have them in my box...

[Dear Santa... ;-)]

stegger 20-08-2009 11:08 AM

I would order the towers due to it being upside down, now and again ;)

Adam, how will the pre-orders be filled? will we get the cars direct from Durango UK, or will they come via a shop like The RacePlace?

Also, are there many other shops other then The RacePlace that will be selling parts? I'm just about the only person who buys off-road stuff from my lhs, so I don't think they'll be doing it just for me.

Hi Adam,

Same question here.

How do we all get the cars if we have Pre-Ordered them?
Do they go to our local shops or do we get direct from Durango UK.

Does anyone know what shops will be supporting this car in the UK?

Adam Skelding 24-08-2009 07:31 AM

Hi John / Carlin,
Pre-ordered kits will come direct from Team-Durango.
Shops will get their kits and spares from the same shipment.

We are busy working on the completely new website which will contain all the info for the model shops in your area.

The model shops we have selected to carry Team Durango product will be announced shortly. They may be small in number, but their track-side support and reputation are all good (Which is why we chose them). Also, with a small number of shops, it guarantees that you will easily be able to find all your spares in one location rather than having to pick and choose from loads of shops.

Hope this clears it up.

Hi Guys,

So what LIPOS are you all think of using in the car?

Been looking around to see whats best & came across these

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Intellect-7-4v...d=p3286.c0.m14

Does anyone know if these will fit the car & are they any good?
just never really used saddle LIPOS.
Im not paying £100 for LRP ones just think thier abit over priced.

Or what do you guys recommend for the car

Marvin 25-08-2009 08:33 AM

I doubt they'll fit, as they're very tall. I'd look at their 4200mAh cells instead, they're only 22mm tall, not 31mm like the 6000mAh cells.

jayst 25-08-2009 08:53 AM

i don't think they are brca legal rob . im goin to use the demon 4200 35c

kriske 25-08-2009 08:58 AM

Im not going to be doing Nationals so doesnt really matter does it?

But shame really if they wont fit.

Is thier anywhere that tells us what size & specs lipos are req (will fit) for the car anywhere?

Adam Skelding 25-08-2009 10:00 AM

Hi,
Regarding LiPo's:
All current EFRA and BRCA Legal LiPo's fit.
I have the Yuntong 4600 LiPo's in at the moment.
Other LiPo's that fit include.
Speed Passion.
Cs-Electronic.
Trakpower (3200).

The LiPo hold down bracket is high enough to accomodate the current EFRA/BRCA legal limit for height of LiPo's.

The IP ones you post a link to will also fit as they are on the BRCA list to.. (But not the 6000mAh ones)

Hi Adam,

Thanks buddy for the information

samd 25-08-2009 04:46 PM

The 4200mah intellect cells are very good and will fit. Got my shell booked in (if i can get paypal to work - emailed you again about it G!)

carlin 26-08-2009 05:51 PM

So what speedo's and lipos are you all thinking of using, when you get the car?

Im not sure what will fit does anyone know?
Does it have to be fiited without fan or anything?

jayst 26-08-2009 06:07 PM

demon 4200 35c and nosram pearl , spektrum micro reciever

mark christopher 26-08-2009 07:32 PM

trakpower dark nosram stcc and spektrum micro reciever inolabs servo

mes 26-08-2009 08:12 PM

If/when I get the DEX410, I think I will get some Vampire Racing Lipos - same distributor and shop in Gemany!

HVAC25000 27-08-2009 04:17 AM

I'm going to try and stuff a Novak GTB in mine and hope I don't have to cut a hole for the giant fan and heatsink. Oh, and IP lipos.

carlin 29-08-2009 07:50 PM

looks like APEX models will be supporting the car then?
Seen it advertised on thier website

They are selling them for £445

bender 30-08-2009 11:52 AM

Yep, I really cant wait for mine to arrive - should be here by Wednesday or Thursday!:wub

You getting one to mate?

Cheers

Darryn

bender 31-08-2009 12:57 PM

Hi Darryn,

Yes I will be getting one for sure, getting a ted fed up with the Cat at the moment, struggling to get it to work up here in Brissie.

I'm hoping that at the very least the Durango will be built like a tank!

I have struggled to finish a race meeting this year without breaking something on my 4wds (I also have a Durga)

BTW where are you getting yours from? They seem cheapest from Tresey (Japanese distributor) but they havent replied to my last email.

RETRO R/C 31-08-2009 01:17 PM

Yeah - I hear you on the CAT mate. I had alot of success with it - however it was very, very hard work to be fast. I ran a B44 this weekend at the interclub in Sydney, and it was a rocket....very easy to drive fast, required alot less stress with set up too. Just never thought I would drive an Associated car....now I am running a B4 and a B44.

Looking at the Durango, it looks tough as nails and with those geared diffs, it will be highly consistent. I got mine from Japan...........not only the cheapest - but also the closest!

They seem very good to deal with.

Cheers

Darryn

till 31-08-2009 06:11 PM

we“re waiting tooo in germany ^^

Adam Skelding 31-08-2009 06:46 PM

Hi,
You're an impatient lot.
The Kits are in the country awaiting clearance from customs and excise to pull their finger out.

We'll get them out the the shops and distributors as soon as we can as mentioned previously. So can we have a halt to the 'I'm still waiting' messages, they don't achieve anything ;)

telboy 31-08-2009 07:01 PM

I'm still waiting!

:p

Only joking.
Good news then everyone.

Thanks for clearing that up Mr Skelding.

Did you do the Nat at RHR? How did you do?
