Im lead to believe that these are going to be released in afew weeks, however thats certainly not official. Ill see if I can find out :)

5C Charging sounds very handy but I havent found a charger that charges much above 5/6A never mind 25A?

RickRick 30-07-2009 10:27 AM

how about cellpro 10s

c0sie 30-07-2009 10:36 AM

Ill just stick to the sensible option of charging at 1C thanks :)

Marvin 30-07-2009 10:58 AM

Nah, it's perfectly safe to charge these at 2/3C without side effects. When charging at 5C lifetime will be reduced.

As for >6A capable chargers, you just need to look at Heli/Plane chargers. E.G: Hyperion chargers, like THIS one. 20A capable with 250W. 4C charging anyone?

Chrislong 30-07-2009 11:06 AM

Im looking forward to trying these new cells. They look ace.

As for charging, its all well and good having that capability and a charger to do it, but my power supply will release its magical blue smoke for sure - so due to other limitations I won't be pushing any more than 2C. (Don't get me wrong, I will be when I can)

The best Ripmax power supply is 20A, I wonder if there is anything else? I don't know much about other options to be honest.

bigred5765 30-07-2009 11:10 AM

my power supply is 32 amp constant, but then it did cost £90,but the charger is only 10 map max

mark christopher 30-07-2009 11:11 AM

at last i can open my mouth bout them.
OK RRP
3600 £ 59.99
4650 £79.99
5000 £84.99

ianjoyner 30-07-2009 11:27 AM

I thought Trakpower had been quiet recently, glad to see some new stuff, not that my 4900 stick was lacking much :D.

Brooks 30-07-2009 11:34 AM

WOW They look Great!!!!!!!! :woot:

They may find there way into my Cat sx when they come into the shops

mark christopher 30-07-2009 11:42 AM

ok to clear some bits up,
5c is what these cells can be charged out safley without shortening life span, on of the testers has had over 130 cycles charging at 5c and full load discharge in around 3mins,
As most chrgers to out at five or ten amps my bcx8 will do two chanels at 9 amps. So im well in the max of 5c
of course, you should still follow brca guide lines until they advise other wise., but 5c is not going to shorten the pack life

mark christopher 30-07-2009 11:55 AM

cjm_2008 30-07-2009 12:47 PM

flat to fully charged in less than half an hour? that's just bonkers.

at this rate, people without access to mains or a gennie will need monster leisure batteries to keep up!
