Outdoors ??

Any proposed dates for the outdoor season yet folks? I guess it normally kicks off in April?

I volunteer for the track repair working party ;)

Mrs oOple 11-03-2007 09:48 PM

Need a date for a work party to get together, in fact probably need a few dates to get the track smartened up good n proper. Any suggestions? The sooner the better, today was a really nice day for outdoor racing.

barnyard 11-03-2007 11:33 PM

The rumour was the council were going to make us move, I'll try to contact steve and diane to find out the current situation. Barnyard is right, the top of the container was taken off as it nearly blew away in the wind. Whatever happens we need to do a lot of work this year!

Oscar 12-03-2007 10:47 AM

Sorry Dan, no prizes for making the understatement of the year:)

A large amount of work is needed, and will only happen if all club members get involved, not just the usual few.
Perhaps we should start a name and shame?:o

Markoxx4 12-03-2007 07:43 PM

If people are up for meeting this sunday and assessing what work needs doing them im up for it.;)

Medders 12-03-2007 07:55 PM

i can't do this sunday but the following two sundays should be ok.

suggest a date folks, let us know whats needed, and lets go for it :)

the rostrum sounds the biggest problem...........

AndyM 12-03-2007 08:08 PM

the folowing sunnday is the indoor finals....so many people wont be able to go :eh?:

i would help, but i dont hav tooo much time, nd i think i will leave it to the poeple hu know wot their doing;)

loose 12-03-2007 08:50 PM

Hi, just let us know when you do pick a date for a work party, myself von dutch and philly are all local. The 2 of them are pretty handy at stuff like track building and if we're free we'll help out.

;)

BenG 13-03-2007 09:25 AM

I live next to the track almost, so will nip round to lend 2 hands ;)

Cant do ALL day sunday though, need to stop at 12, and can start again at 4 ;)

b4rs 27-03-2007 04:28 PM

ok then, so theres enough time to prepare, what about 8th april, 15th april, 22nd april, and 29th if needed. now what about them dates? we cant jus all talk on the forum and agree work needs to be done, we need to DO it. if we have to move, thne we could do with some info on this. otherwise summer will be over and next thing we know we wil be indoors.

Oscar 28-03-2007 09:19 AM

As detailed on the club website, there is a committee/members meeting at the sports centre next Monday. The subject of outdoor dates will be on the adjenda, as will track maintenence. All members are welcome to attend and offer their assistance or any suggestions.

Oscar 25-04-2007 11:42 AM

The first meeting outdoors, will be this Sunday at 12:00:)

footey 25-04-2007 11:52 AM

It's a club meeting so run whatever you like, if it's dry you'll need yellow minispikes.

mark christopher 25-04-2007 02:31 PM

when i need greens then?

jimmy 25-04-2007 02:43 PM

when it's very wet. when it's damp I'd still use yellows. The greens wear quickly when its dry.

mark christopher 25-04-2007 02:45 PM

cheers gentlemen!

Altho what happened to this question already been answered

super__dan 26-04-2007 04:52 PM

Bloody hell, you only asked a couple of hours ago, most people work during the day ;)

As stated before the rostrum is the indoor one. It will be on the opposite side to normal.

There will be normal race fee's (we have to pay the rent and cover rostrum repairs after all), I don't remember the exact amount, I think it's £5.

b4rs 26-04-2007 05:44 PM

oh thanks, sorry to be a pain

G, is Southport a regional event? Can you run there if you've already taken part in a NE event, or do you run but your scores dont count?

Me and Von Dutch had a look at Batley last night by the way, looks good (sorry we couldn't make the work party). The double looks fun and not too tricky, but having never raced there properly the table top look like it could be a bit lively.

How may usually turn up for club nights?

Col 27-04-2007 08:30 PM

Club days my friend! Batley race mostly sunday daytime. 11ish kick off for booking in & track prep. If memory serves a good turnout is around 30 drivers, average about 20? Please feel to correct me if I'm wrong about that.

Loose - come on down this sun. It will be a great laugh with no presure. Just thrash the knackers off it! The double is superb (flat out with no probs) but the table top can be a bit tricky. Some just take it like a single jump and land on the grass, missing the "down ramp" altogether (but this is rough on the car). It's all down to choice really

Yes, yes they put you in a 'non-regional' final at the end of qualifying
